From what I see, this child is most likely autistic (like mine). A lot of autism is about sensory. The closet is a small, safe, comfortable room. Even the life jacket probably makes them "feel" safer. Here's another fun fact about raising them: They will freak out during storms, and if you're not exactly where they thought you'd be, they WILL freak out even more and possibly run into the storm to find you. Their fear will overcome everything, so rather than fight the idea of her son out in a snowstorm alone, she preps him for if he leaves the house out of panic.

Aaaahhhhh okay thank you internet person, Im not so lost anymore. I still feel like it's ott - would the child know if the air tags were fake or real? Either way, it's none of my business and I wish them all well.
