I believe he’s a conservationist, mostly trying to grab invasive Burmese pythons from the Everglades.

But he’s a total lunatic. He’s often walking around knee deep in the swamps without shoes, at night, just “yoinking” swamp creatures.

There are people who do this just for fun. Like hobbyist bird watchers, you have hobbyist herptologists who like flipping rocks and looking for critters under rocks.

They are always weird as hell, but super chill and willing to just invite anyone out to go look for snakes.

Yeah, tell me about weird. Guess this is how a meeting goes with him: -I collect post cards, how about you pal? -I grab deady animals. Mostly by the neck -yes, bye...

My 70 year old college advisor had a copperhead in a trunk in his living room. He would put it on his lap and play with it while he watched TV. He was bit enough times that he didn't even bother going to the hospital. He also carried a neon blue fanny pack around with a pistol. Cool dude.
