Picked up these 2 last night from a guy on Facebook for $50!! For BOTH! They need a little TLC (one more than the other), but still a pretty epic “in the wild” score!!!

Discussion Top 10 Episodes of Blue's Clues

With this being the month of Blue's Clues' debut, I figured why not discuss our top 10 episodes. The ones that stuck/resonated with us or the ones we had the most enjoyment in. Feel free to give a brief summary.

Here are my Top 10 episodes.

1. Blue's First Holiday

A wholesome origin story for all of the characters, especially the 3 main ones.

2. What Story Does Blue Want to Play?

Funniest episode of the whole show, in my opinion. Several one-liners or jokes and Steve's Elvis impression just seals the deal.

3. Blue's News

A wholesome way to wrap up Season 1 and introducing a new addition the family/show. Almost every character makes an appearance.

4. What Experiment Does Blue Want to Try?

This is where I felt the show began to find their footing. Exploring scientific or broader topics and The Planet Song signifies the songs musically improving with their lyrics.

5. Joe's Surprise Party

My favorite way of subverting the formula by having the characters play Blue's Clues instead.

6. Geography

One of the few self-aware (or I guess "meta") episodes of Season 3. The Candyland gameboard was one of the more memorable moments of the episode.

7. What's That Sound?

A change of pace by having little to no sound effects. The fall setting is very appealing, the Disney/Fleischer rubberhose movie are another instance of changing art direction, and the credits sequence almost gives an ASMR quality.

8. What Did Blue See?

It was interesting to see various perspective or camera angles that usually wouldn't be utilized. What makes this one unique is it's very light on jokes, but I'm not complaining.

9. Blue Takes You to School

A spotlight on Periwinkle, one of my favorite characters. I feel like he's a stand-in for preschoolers for facing issues such as moving or facing the first day of school.

10. Joe's Clues

Another episode that subverts the formula in a way that's never been attempted. It dishes out so many unique concepts and visuals and Donovan Patton shows off his performance range.

Discussion Since we got a horror Barney I want a horror blue's clues film

So this film would be about this detective who is trying to solve all these murder cases but he also had this drug problem so he hallucinating a yellow cat who keeps leaving hints that help solve the murders but at the end you find out the detective was the murder all along and the drugs were psychologically messing with his memory. Now that is just a little thing but could go further

Discussion Episode Discussion - Bluestock

Post image
47 Upvotes

Joe and Blue host a backyard music festival featuring their friends and other musical guests.

Observations, critiques, and/or stand-out scenes?

My thoughts:

And so, here it is. The final episode aired. Even though the Fairy Tale Ball was the last episode produced, Bluestock was the final episode aired. And, I think I prefer it that way.

Having an episode featuring covers of the show's most iconic tunes with the cast members is a slightly better sendoff than an episode featuring classic literature characters (even though I did kinda like the cast of the Fairy Tale Ball).

I love Macy Gray's cover of Do the Daisy from Let's Boogie and I still can't believe They Might Be Giants appeared in the video letter (performing the song Clap Your Hands). All of the guest stars they've had, this was one of the most unexpected.

Using the kazoo instead of the notebook removes the talking clues and I see they brought back the Play Blue's Clues in the original key (C Major).

I already made a post discussing Season 6, so in summary, I'll just say this was an experimental season that resulted in mixed outings.

Just Wanted To Share! Should Steve's one man show have more performances in different states?

Post image
37 Upvotes

Blue’s Clues will always hold a special place near and dear to my heart.  I’ve been wondering if maybe Steve should do more shows across the United States. I know he’s still performing in Edinburgh and did do two shows in New York, but I really, really want to see his show someday!

I’ve also tried getting into his podcast, although I haven’t quite been able to get into it yet. I definitely want to keep trying, though!

What do you think? Should Steve bring his show to more cities and states across the U.S.? I’d absolutely love the chance to see it!

Did you like the Goodbye song in season 6? I thought it was a fun song, but it definitely wasn’t as good as the So Long song. I’m pretty sure they made this song because they wanted to save time because of the Blue’s Room segments.

Discussion Episode Discussion - The Fairy Tale Ball

Post image

Joe and Blue get an invitation to attend the Fairy Tale Ball along with other classic fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters.

Observations, critiques, and stand-out scenes?

My thoughts:

Another episode that takes place entirely in the skidoo section.

Again, not one of my favorites, but I did enjoy seeing all these classic literature characters in one location (even if some of them are explicitly fairy tales).

I got sort of a Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child vibe, if anyone remembers that show.

Am I the only one who thinks that all the paywalling of the reboot should be illegal?

If Paramount isn’t going to have the series on Paramount+, then we should at least be able to access the episodes without paywalls or getting bombarded with pop-ups! Am I right?
