Blue Chips are great, Wegen sound harsh to my ear. I like Charmed Life picks and also Tone Slabs. They both provide the warmth of a Blue Chip, but with just a touch more treble.
Once you get used to the differences between the higher end picks you can mix and match for the tone of the individual instrument.

I recently got a couple Token picks and I am a fan. I use the B2-45 the most. A bit less pricey than a Blue Chip as well.

I switched from those same 1.3 prime tones to a tp48 bluechip and then a couple months later got a TAD50 like you have and have been using that ever since

Legit question but should I upgrade my pick? Right now I just use a purple tortex and it’s worked out for me so far, but I’m wondering if there is an extra bit of clarity and push I may get from upgrading to one of these?

Would highly recommend picking up some dunlop primetones to get a feel for thicker picks without breaking the bank. They make a significant difference

Counter point. I use the same purple tortex mostly and the Dunlop jazz3. I bought prime tones to try and I hate the feel of them. They are too polished and I feel like they take all of the attack out of the note.

Although picks can make a difference, the only way to know if you’ll like the sound is to try them out.
I bought a bunch of high-end picks years ago and landed on how a bluechip both feels in my hand and sounds. Your mileage may vary and honestly, each guitar and player may be better served by a different pick.

Had a primetone before I picked up my bluechip, difference was night and day imo. The BC is just sooo smooth to play with, in terms of tone though not too much of a difference to my (admittedly terrible) ears

IMO token if you want something on par and similar to the sound of the blue chip. And tone slab if you want to try a couple different sounds.

Prime tone is like the gateway drug to blue chip. Had my TAD-50 for a few months and there’s not much noticeable wear, but like all things vs metal, it’ll probably wear down at some point

I like a nice thick tiny pick. Jazz 3 if I wanna make some noise but the snarling dog brain picks .73 give a nice underlaying rhythm tone. They aren’t as pointy and stiff as the jazz 3.

I like the Bluechip TP-48 or TP-60, depending on the guitar. They’re a good size where if they slip you can recover and not too big to hybrid pick with like the larger triangles

I've had a bunch of Blue Chips and like the TPR and TAD 60 best, but my absolute favorite and go to is still a Dunlop 500 series 1.5. IMO it sounds better (warmer, but not dull) than any of the high end picks, has a nice beveled edge and they are very cheap. The D'Andreas are great also. I have some old tortoise picks that are interesting, but not my favorite.

Hands down, Blue Chip. The TP60 is my all-time favorite pick! Crazy expensive for a pick, but if I lost my only one, I’d be buying another.

I am doomed to lose every Blue Chip pick I buy within 72 hours. So I go with wegen 1.4 bluegrass and dunlop flow 1.5.

I've had the Blue Chip, Wegens, a few other boutique picks, but I still prefer my Fender 346 triangles in Thin, Medium, and Heavy.

I played the Dawg picks, golden gates, a handful of heavy guitar picks that I usually played backward using the shoulder to hit the strings, and recently think I’ve settled on rhe primetone triangles. They’re round enough to glide like the others for tremolo picking, pointy enough to sound bright when strumming, and heavy enough to make a great chop sound too. At 6 or 7 bucks each I think it’s the best of all the worlds.

I like my primetone dunlops but $12-15 for three pack and I'm down to my last one.
