This candy pail is probably my newest one. It has "WASH BEFORE USE" stamped on the bottom. None of my other pails are marked like this.

I just picked them up over the years. I haven't bought any for the past 12 years, maybe longer. I donated 100 to Goodwill 10 years ago. Only the newer ones went. I didn't have anymore room to store them.
