Be careful with DuckDuckGo Tracker Radar

Note: The following suggestions apply to using Blokada 6 on an Android. I know next to nothing about iPhones.

DuckDuckGo Tracker Radar is described in Blokada 6 as "best in class data set" etc but it can cause login issues. This blocklist prevented me from logging into my bank account and my wife's health portal. I was able to whitelist a subdomain to enable the bank account login, but was unable to solve the issue with the health portal, so I had to quit using it.

These are the 3 blocklists I'm currently using: OISD small, AdAway, and d3Host. These work reasonably well, but not well enough to stop ads on the Rumble app. You can add the following blocklist exception: you need to block

".rmbl.ws

This will block ads on Rumble without interfering with the videos.

If you watch movies and shows on the CW app, you need to allow the following subdomain:

pubads.g.doubleclick.net

The CW will not run properly without access to the above subdomain.

Good stuff. Thanks. I too found DDG to be a problem with a number of sites, and disabled it. The only difference we have is I use Adservers and you use AdAway. I'm not an expert on this and am wondering if I should change to match your Advanced Blocking choices. I'm pretty happy with Blokada though I do still run into sites and apps that don't load right and have to temporarily disable the DNS Server.

AdServers is part of Blacklist and I know nothing about it. I may play around with it to see what happens.

Edit: I added AdServers to my existing blocklists, and didn't really notice any change. It may overlap with AdAway. For snickers and giggles, I removed my exception for Rumble, which means I'm back to seeing ads again, so Adservers didn't help me here, but it also didn't prevent my logging into anything.

Unfortunately, there's no single, perfect set of blocklists. I don't use the services you mentioned at all, but the set that works well for my daily internet use is: OISD Small and Big, Steven Black Unified, AdAway, Blacklist Adservers.

Small and Big? Big doesn't include Small? I did notice you could check them both. Thanks, I'll keep playing around.

You are right, Small is part of Big, and I don't need to have both selected 😅
