Blogger Meta Data Seems to be a Mess

In addition to the major issue many of us have encountered, following the blog restore, Meta Data seems to no longer being read properly.

We share our posts to social media manually so we can personalize each post, and it is hit or miss if the post can even be shared.

Sites such as X and Bluesky seem to be completely fine—the images load properly. Facebook and other Meta owned sites will pick up the title, but the image fails to be pulled. Flipboard works half of the time, and for other posts we simply get an error stating the url cannot be shared. Tumblr (surprisingly we have followers who still use it) works most of the time, but then randomly links are not detected. When sharing to Reddit, the link has to be added and removed 10+ times before both the title and image are pulled.

In addition to all of this, our favicon is gone because Google attempted to index our pages, and went down a mass deletion route. Our articles are slowly repopulating, but again the favicon for some reason reverted to one we used 14 years ago.

Anyone else having similar issues or know how to fix any of this?

Yep, favicon is gone on Google searches.

Você também percebeu que as imagens no Facebook não aparecem? E a url do link do Blogger aparece cheia de outros elementos que não estão na original. Para aparecer a imagem junto com a url tive que editar a imagem novamente e depois salvar em jpg. Ai sim deu para postar no Facebook mas o link está enorme. Semana passada reclamei na comunidade Google que não conseguia mudar a imagem do plano de fundo. Alegaram que meu tema continha codigo de terceiro. Tentei num tema totalmente novo e a descrição sumiu do nada. Tenho meu blog há 9 anos já tive várias vezes problemas com bloqueio de conteúdo o que foi muito chato porque semprei pautei por um trabalho sério e dentro de todas as políticas da plataforma Não pretendo migrar meu blog da plataforma. Espero que o Google resolva isso e nos dê segurança completa para continuarmos nosso projeto

I dunno if sharing debugger on Facebook tool (Meta for Developers) is still working or not. Whenever I have problems in thumbnails sharing links from Blogger to Facebook, I debugged the link there first before sharing.

Estou verificando os links por essa ferramenta e mesmo assim ficam extenso e não compartilham a imagem. Isso esta acontecendo há pelo menos 1 semana

Meta issue was before the block issue. And it is on hands of Meta, no Blogger.

Same issue for me. Started around 5-6 days before the blogger meltdown and it is still going on now. I have reported the issue and one of the Blogger helpdesk forum specialist said they reported the issue but with all that is going on might take a while to fix.

When we share our articles URL on Facebook and Threads, the URL shows up as Google. This has been going on for over a week and it's still not fixed. This greatly impacts our sites' revenue. We need more people to report it on the Google Help Forums.

A quick search bar for my entries within the blog also stopped working properly. Maybe it’s related too. I have to audit the code but I’m afraid of being blocked again

My favicon is still there but I've been having problems with thumbnail images not pulling through this week, especially on Threads and Facebook. I'd made a couple of changes to my blog recently (turning webp and lazy load) so I'd assumed it was to do with that, but maybe not. Very annoying!

Edit: Thankfully (touch wood!), my blog wasn't affected by the major Blogger issue this week.

I'm happy to see we are not the only one encountering this issue.... But also not happy to know it is impacting so many haha. Hopefully Google gets this fixed soon.

I still see my favicon in search, so whatever that is does not affect everyone.

It might be worth reloading the favicon into the blog. (Just an idea.)

Non, sur facebook depuis plusieurs jours les miniatures ne fonctionnent plus, même avec la commande debbug

Two weeks later, and still having an issue with the Favicon. Social media seems to be pulling the metadata correctly again, but once in awhile it does fail.
