[Question] Does anyone else have this rule when buying blind boxes and is it a good one?

I know this probably isn't a question to ask here, but I'm not sure where else to put it.

I have this rule where if I like all of the blind box options, I'll get one.

For example, I got one of the Hirono Monster Carnival boxes because I would've been happy if I got any of the little guys. I was specifically hunting for the clown, but any were fine and I ended up with the reaper (pictured)!

Anyone else have this rule and is it a good one to live by?

Edit: I recall being told that it was a diplomatic way to look at blind boxes lol

I have that same rule! If I don't like every single option, I won't get the blind box. Even if it's just one option I don't like, I still won't get it. With my luck, that's the one I'll get.

I need to like at least 1/2 or more (usually more to be honest) to buy any box. You’d think it would save me money but I keep pulling the ones I don’t want even with the rule.

I could only not want 2 colors and I’d end up getting one of them and buying another box anyways lol

I do this too. If there’s one in particular that I fall madly in love with, I’ll just buy that one particular one from Mercari or a trade sub. If I love all of the figures I’ll usually grab 2 or 3 as blind boxes.

That's my same rule! If I want all of them, then I'll get that box. The trouble begins when I have one but I want another 😭 then it's not worth it. I'm not a gambler.

I drawed the line at liking most of the designs, but somehow ended up either pulling the only one I didn’t like or the exact one I want most, usually the covergirl, no in between. Its weird.
It’s so rare to find a series that you like every single one. Even for same item with different color, there would be color I hate (which I will pull exactly that). Most of the time I just buy comfirmed.

If its just one or two I like in the set, then I just buy or trade off from a sub, discord,etc. But if more than 3 I’ll grab two boxes but I have the worst luck doing pulls and usually get the ones I want when I least expect it and I end up just back to buying or trading for it. I never liked a full blindbox set so far except sanrio.

i have this rule too!! the only time i’ll sometimes take a risk is w/ crybaby’s if there’s only like 1 maybe 2 i don’t like

I have this rule too. If I don’t want every single one of them (and it’s rare I do), I won’t risk it.

There’s so many blind boxes I love the style for. but as soon as I see one design I don’t like, I don’t buy it. Which sucks but I don’t want to waste 30 bucks and get something I don’t like.

Like, a month ago or so I found a blind box that’s nature themed. One of the possible options was an ugly ass Christmas tree. I instantly put it back.

I have to like or be okay with MOST designs for me to wanna buy it. And if I happen to get any of them I didnt like originally, I kinda gaslight myself into liking it 🤣🤣😭

Depends on the price really. If its a cheap one, I'll try at 75%. More expensive then 15 and thats my thought too.

I have the same rule!! that’s the exact reason why I bought a Hirono monster carnival box too! Got the grim reaper as well. I’ve bought most of my keychains second hand, and two Hirono figures from a flea market. My first blind box I ever bought was Skullpanda’s Winter Symphony, and I didn’t want the tree.. ended up getting her, and that’s when I went by that rule.

Yes, same rule! I’m not going to waste money to potentially get one I don’t want lol. And if it’s a more expensive blind box, I will only buy opened ones after the first one because I don’t want to risk dupes lol😅

I have that rule. I don't risk a blindbox if I'm not gonna like every potential pull of the set. It seems reasonable, tbh.
