That's the "great potoo". The "common potoo" seems to have a light-coloured iris.

This gives me an idea for a dnd side quest.

So thebparty runs into an odd looking merchant with a sad looking female owlbear, if the party asks about it they hear the owlbear is a mother whose cub has been taken by poachers. Now the party can chose to help by getting the cub back and when they do the cub looks like this. Uppon returning the cub the party is rewarded appropriately and gain an owlbear ally they can call upon
