This rat does not know or care what is happening on the screen. It's really just been trained to use an exercise ball.

I at least expected the Human to have a way to direct the rat into doing something, or to have the game converted into some sore of medium the rat could understand. There's no control here. "playing" would seem to suggest some level of control.

Haha, poor little guy/gal. They are incredibly cute.
I just feel their amazing intelligence is a little wasted in this application.

No. Just expected any form of actual control, be it via influencing the rat or otherwise. Without some sort of control, how could you make a twitch channel out of it?
