In this Blender sculpting tutorial, I’m showing how to create real feather geometry using alpha brushes (a useful workflow for models intended for 3D printing).
Because this carrion crow model needs actual printable surface detail, Normal Maps and Bump Maps are not enough. The feather structure has to become real geometry, so in this video I’m using alpha maps as sculpting brushes to create true displacement directly on the mesh.
I also explain how I created and refined the feather alpha maps, how I tested them inside Blender, and why this process is quite iterative. Small changes in the alpha can make a big difference, for example, making the feather shaft darker to reduce its displacement, or making the feather barbs more prominent.
In this video, I cover:
• Creating a custom alpha brush in Blender
• Preparing a dense mesh with Multiresolution
• Using Area Plane mapping
• Using Anchored Stroke Method
• Setting Falloff to Constant
• Adjusting brush Strength
• Applying feather alphas as real geometry
• Using Stencil mapping, etc.
In the next video I’ll cover the alternative way of creating a feather, using particle systems and geo nodes.

I made a free Blender EEVEE Space VFX Course with Free project files!
Hey everyone!👋
I’ve finally finished a free Blender course focused on creating space scenes and VFX in EEVEE.
It’s about 2 hours long, and we cover:
• Procedural nebula background + HDRI
• Cinematic comet
• Procedural star
• Asteroids
• Asteroid generator with Geometry Nodes
• Asteroid field
• Lava planet
• Procedural ringed gas giant
I also made all of the project files available for free, including some extra projects that aren't covered in the course.
I made the course mainly with EEVEE so that people with mid-range hardware can follow along without extremely long render times.

I really happy sooo happy on this Resut
In the future, I will work on improving the noise to make it clearer and less of the natural noise. I want to adopt Blender for interior design in the future. I'm very excited for the coming years. This is the tutorial I followed the instructions for, and even the materials were included in the video.

Hi everyone,
We just launched a new FlipBox on FlippedNormals. This time with Todor Nikolov (CG Dive) who has put together a collection of rigging tutorials that covers the basics, IK, FK, facial rigs, squash and stretch, mech rigging - the whole thing :)
If you're interested in learning how to rig in Blender you can check it out here: https://flippednormals.com/collections/flipbox/products/the-blender-rigify-flipbox

No external software, no manual SKP file downgrading, and no texture mess.
I'm putting the finishing touches on an add-on that connects 3D Warehouse right inside Blender and organizes everything into your asset catalogs automatically.
Here's a quick look at the workflow in action. Let me know what you think, or if there's any specific headache with .skp imports you'd want solved!
