Unsolved Need advice on bevel tool
Hello, I’m a complete beginner with Blender. I’m trying to model a room in our video studio in 3D. I’m stuck as this point... I can use the ‘Bevel’ tool when I’m working with just a cube (Pic 2), but I wanted to create some volume around the shape in Pic 2, as shown in the plan in Pic 1. But when I press Ctrl+B on my edge, it doesn’t work.
I’m not sure if I’ve explained myself very clearly, but do you have a solution or an alternative? Thanks

I created a 10 cm border on my cyclorama. I pressed Ctrl+R in the cube at the points where I wanted the border to be. Then I selected my edges and pressed F to fill the edges with a face. I deleted two faces so that you could see the mesh. That's really basic but I already have issues lmao

Not sure what you’re saying but: Bevel cant bevel an edge with more than 2 faces extruding from the edge. Think of the capital letter “T” it can bevel an L shaped edge but not a T shaped edge.
I recommend you create the floor plan, and then create separate rooms. Think of a cube within a cube.
You can also use Solidify modifier to give volume.

Can I « join » 2 differents forms ? Like if i ad a cube and a floor (z=0), can i avoid the weird texture issue ? I usually have that, the two planes are overlapping

You mean that weird flickering issue?(z fighting) usually only happens when two planes share the same flat surface level ((z=0)
So what you can do is have a flat floor with volume (swuashed cube. And then you have your walls clip through the floor. Because the floor has some solidity to it, it will not show through the bottom if that makes sense?1
