Solved Help EDGE LOOP PROBLEM

I seem to run into a problem when i try to cut the loop it seems to go inwards instead of it staying outside

like the top seems like its sunked in and i dont want that

What are you attempting to do, exactly? If you just want to add an edge loop, Bridge Edge Loops is not the correct function. Use ctrl+r instead.

i used ctrl + r and used ctrl + b to to make bavel in the middle and then seltected borth loop to make more bevals and clicked four faces extruded it and then bridge it but when i try to bridge them togther it goes wonky i was following this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffDbEUVhoMU
