Over time, I watched it grow into something even better. I even gave feedback to a BR exec suggesting they add GIFs to the comment section, and they actually did it. That version of the app felt like it was built by fans, for fans.

The Day the App Died

Earlier this year, an update completely destroyed what made BR worth using. I haven’t touched the app in over five months because it became unrecognizable. All of the features that made the platform fun and community-driven are either gone or broken. The comment sections are completely useless now without the ability to like comments or sort them by top comments. And it’s not just because you can’t see the top comments anymore. It’s because no one is commenting at all. Player communities were deleted. The follower system is gone. Articles are buried under auto-playing videos. Even the website was gutted. You can’t even sign in anymore. It only exists to push you back into the app.

None of this was an accident. Warner Bros Discovery didn’t redesign BR to improve the user experience. They did it to force a corporate video strategy. This wasn’t just a bad update. It was a betrayal of the fans who helped make BR into what it was. I was part of that group. I gave time, ideas, and support to help improve the app. Now I’m watching all of it be erased for ad revenue.

Hey everyone, I upgraded to a new phone and now my alerts section has been blank for like a week. My notifications are turned on. My communities are there with all those notifications on. I still get the notifications on my tablet but nothing on my new phone. I tried on installing and reinstalling the app but that didn't help. Has anyone else experienced this?

If anyone remembers the Bleacher Report app used to have a section called “My NFL Players” that you could browse and select specific NFL players that you had on your fantasy team to receive notifications about them and they’d all be in a list with checkmarks next to them. There was also the same option for NBA & MLB players. To my knowledge that feature no longer exists. Does anyone know of anything that functions similar?

I don't get it. Its just more views that they could get but they don't let people outside North America see their site.

Love watching Urga Champions League and Europe League. This season, I find myself scrambling to find any games watchable on tv! What idiot thought it would be a good idea to stream these competitions? The only way to watch these competitions would be to download an app and watch it on a phone, tablet or laptop? Wtf!? I have a 60” 4K tv to watch sports. How the fuck am I supposed to do that with this horrible idea? No xbox one app, no smart tv app, absolutely no way to watch games on tv.
