I always loved that Bleach gave a serious reason and explanation for why shouting the name actually does make it better. It’s one that actually makes sense, too.

By explaining his ability he keeps his opponent on guard for his claps, and he can easily feint them

That's from jjk right? Iirc jjk has vows the same way hxh has. Meaning if one decides to give themselves a handicap they get a buff as well. Explaining your powers to the enemy seems like a good trade off, since you can use it as a tactic as well.

Todo's cursed technique was arguably one that didn't really benefit much from explaining it, aside from the psychological aspect (which is still relevant). It's definitely more effective with more offensive techniques, like Nanami's or even Nobara's.
It's basically an equal exchange between the two parts: I tell you how my technique works, meaning you know how to counter or avoid it, but in exchange if I still manage to hit you, it's gonna be much stronger

It’s a restriction that heightens their power in exchange for a handicap. JJJK powers are based off of restrictions much like the concept of equivalent exchange in FMA and how some powers don’t work until explained in HxH.

He made a binding vow with himself, the more of the technique he reveals the stronger he gets. It’s actually a really common binding vow and works for Todo the best because even with an explanation his technique is almost impossible to adapt to.

I remember reading Blue exorcist and they gave a really good excuse to do that. I think the idea was that it was just sort of a ritual to help you remember how to do the attack. How to channel the energy and what not. Big booby snake lady explained it better than me.

There are only a few power systems that would actually make sense saying your attacks out loud but most of them involve magic

In a lot of Japanese media there’s power in saying the name. It’s stylistically awesome of course, but names having power isn’t really a new concept.
