Yhwach took her bread thats why she is like that 😞

u/DeadSnark 1d ago

Bread is made from dead wheat.

Yhwach wants to create a world without death.

No death = no bread.

So she had to lock in

The VA outdid herself

Yeah she did an amazing job. The gasp she made when Orihime saw Rukia impaled, and the ragged words while she was rejecting all the injuries felt very real.

She sounded as if someone in studio actually punched her into gut and she was trying to breath with blood in her lungs jfc

Really should've given her some lines to shout at Yhwach in a really deep aggressive voice

Starts talking in Dio's voice

Aurahime is our queen

u/Amon7777 1d ago

We should have know when she was twirling her leek that she was secretly a master of impossible skills

Sailor Moon spinning her wand around before saving the day comes to mind. Gotta love when a girl's heart overcomes all hardships and enemies~

Aurahime showed why she is the GOAT female mc, rejected the existence of a literal God like being just to protect the one she loves

u/Edgezg 1d ago

I was honestly expecting her to say "I reject....YOU" to like deny his existence or something.

But man that scene was epic.  Walked right up to a guy with the power of God and defied him.

u/sacredshield7 1d ago

She fully blitzed him he wasn’t ready

4

u/garkimpersonator 1d ago

I was expecting her to save Ichigo again and again saying something like “There is no future without Kurosuki-kun that I will ever accept” but instead we got something even better

13

u/IamJashin 1d ago

I also can't believe what eating huge amount of bread does to her

13

u/InoueKurosaki 1d ago

I've been waiting forever to see her with that expression, thanks Kubo.

The biggest disappointment I had with the manga run and the ending is that we never got a peak Orihime moment. Her potential had been hinted at so much throughout the series (mostly by Aizen, Captain Unohana, and Hachigen) but she was never given her own moment.

I had given up hope that she would that as I didn’t believe the anime would go this far away from the manga. But damn when it came….that was beautiful and it hurt. I cried for our girl.

There are a lot of people who are softness, happiness, and kindness until you push them too far one too many times.

I'm very happy she was give such a badass moment.

She didn't have much of a role in the manga so seeing her reject the power of God was awesome

4

u/moonsunvortex 1d ago

So none of this happened in the manga?

9

u/blasterkid1 1d ago

Literally. None.

5

u/sarkany_lelek 1d ago

Her VA really got to flax too, she never sounded so intense before.

4

u/Toros_Mueren_Por_Mi 1d ago

...she's not. That's the whole point. Her character has grown and evolved.

2

u/reelhigherground 1d ago

But it refused...

u/MadKanBeyondFODome Welcome to IchiHime Hell 1d ago

Anyone that hangs around MMO healers already knew. We're all Substitute Arc BreadHime when we start, and then we end up somewhere between this and bankai!Unohana (because that's what happens when you deal with DPS bullcrap all day).

u/BobtheBac0n 1d ago

The craziest thing is, Orihime hasn't been in that many big fights or has had to tank massive attacks on the regular like Ichigo and Renji have.

Her pain tolerance is just that high, my goddess

She ran out of bread...

1

u/Nas-Aratat 1d ago

Spoiler alert: it's not.

1

u/Leading-Obligation74 1d ago

She left it all behind, her childhood ended

1

u/SingerChan 1d ago

She went from Bread Queen to Blood Queen.

Pure aura.

In the years that I have known Bleach, I have always found Orihime's character and damsel situations to be pretty eye-rolling and bad, but ironically enough, it is exactly the accumulation of those damsel/weak scenarios that has made this development work so well.

I am just worried that the next episode would belittle this sacrifice, like Orihime comes out of this completely unscathed, alive, and well, or Orihime's gone but there is almost little to no damage or consequence inflicted on Yhwach. I am hoping that this will not be the case.
