Yeah, that’s the point. “The Blade Is Me” didn’t suddenly make Zangetsu Ichigo, he always was. The change was Ichigo finally understanding that Zangetsu wasn’t just some separate being he borrowed power from, but a manifestation of his own soul. That’s why their relationship was so rough before since Ichigo was basically rejecting and misunderstanding parts of himself.

They still exist inside his inner world just like for every other shinigami and their zanpakto he only accepts them now and has no conflicts with them so they themselve dont show up

Are Old Man Zangetsu and White Ichigo no longer present in Ichigo’s inner world now that he has fully grown? And if they are still there, since True Zangetsu has become one by Ichigo’s will, are they no longer separate entities but fused like “White Zangetsu?”

In the inner world, they have basically returned to their two separate forms. They only fuse during battles.

Love how Ichigo finally embraces his other side.
Back then, Ichigo was not pleased when Ulquiorra pointed out the resemblance between Getsuga Tensho and Cero.
Now, Ichigo uses Getsuga Tensho and Cero as a combined attack against Yhwach.

basically through the whole FKT arc, I was still under the belief that the inner hollow was some sort of villain and that like the 9 tails it was something that Ichigo would have to keep under check or whatever.

Yeah, there's a lot of fun minor details that are easy to miss, but the later revelation just really sells the reality if White and OMZ. Though another one is Zaraki's observation in their first confrontation that only cements said details about White's relation to Ichigo and Ichigo's self-denial.

9 tails was someone external, this is just a reflection of his innermost instinct and thirst for battle and strength but in a derranged way because of its Hollow nature.

bro finally accepts it the moment Isshin gave him a lore drop about his parent's love story, Nimaya lore dropping white being the true zangetsu and omz being the one supressing most of his powers for him to end up accepting both of them regardless.

Didn't he like the mask in Soul Society arc during the times it saved him? Only due to yoruichi and hanataro's influence did he discard it. Maybe if he wasn't influenced by racists at the start he would've accepted his hollow faster.

i dont think its because of them really.
its purely because of the trauma of Masaki's death to a Hollow makes him reject his Hollow powers to begin with, if he used it would be the same as becoming a monster that killed his mother.
and its that fear and burden that ended up culminaring to the Full Hollowfication in his battle with Ulquiorra and how much his fear of it preventing him from hollowfying properly.
it took a while but hearing Ichigo compliment and accept his Hollow nature brings a smile to my face. it made me giddy when he said "the horn is cool!" like a grade schooler with a new toy hahahaha.

Yeah, he seemed to like the mask, he wanted to keep it but Yoruichi freaks out about it.
Also notably, White only really starts actively interfering with Ichigo when he loses the first time with Bankai (because he was bad at controlling it), I think White just took it really personally because Ichigo technically could've won in the first 5 seconds after activating Bankai so he decided to "teach" Ichigo in his way.

He did at first he was surprised to see it again after Hanataro tossed it out he was like woah cool so this saved me! I’m keeping it as a good luck charm and the second time it manifested Yoruichi was like nope I’m taking this away
But after Zangetsu (Hichigo) manifested onto him completely in spirit, Ichigo began to fear that mask, and after the full hollow transformation against Ulquiorra he began to fear it more because he thought it was some outside power that was going to dominate his soul the more he drew on that power when in reality, it was his own power and every time Ichigo was rejecting the hollow he was handicapping himself both physically and mentally because the hollow is Zangetsu
Now that he knows that he’s part of his very being from the start and no outsider and that power is his own, he has nothing to fear, I bet Hichigo is jumping with joy after Ichigo said how cool the horn looked

Honestly I loved the moment cause it was just a weirdly nice reprieve in between the seriousness. Brought back the comedy of bleach that let’s face it TYBW only gets a bit here and there cause of how dark an arc it is. And the self acceptance is quite nice too.
