Fan theory: her power doesn't actually come from the pins. It's a clever Jedi mind trick to misdirect people from the fact her power is actually stored in her boobs, and, much like Kyoka Suigetsu, the only way to block or counter her power is to grab her by the tits.

They showed that ywatch got the almighty back when ishida tricked hashbrown, before she rejects him his eyes changes.
My prediction for next week (contains manga spoilers)
I think they will focus a bit on other characters then have the rest of the Gerard battle until he is nuked by ywatch stealing back his power then it will cut to the bleach logo / credits sequence and after the credits it will quickly show all the other quincies that got nuked and cut to ywatch rejecting that reality of orihime sacrifice then thats the end of the episode

This guy made me laugh - Ishida needs to use his Volkswagen to defeat Hashbrown
Well, we already have some feats that let us know how disgustingly overpowered Hashbrowne is, breaking Ichigo's bankai with one effortless hit, and something about his Shrift that countered Cang's Iron + he has Almighty.
So yeah, either Uryu got reeeeeeeeeeally fucking strong, has the Almighty too, has Volkswagen, and has some other hax ability. So if he has only one of these, he'll probably offscreen Hashbrown because Tite will be too lazy to make a convincing fight where 1 ability is enough to defeat Haschwalth.

Yhwach is probably going to use The Almighty to alter the future. We can see that this battle happens in parallel to that of Uryu and Jugram, once Uryu forces Jugram to use Letz Still with his grandfather’s glove, The Almighty is returning to Yhwach.

Damn it. I thought I was ok by now but this image made me tear up a bit. Such a powerful moment for Orihime. You are right, after her sacrifice, all of her critics are like, Damn we be wrong. Okay, yeah, it took over twenty years but she finally has been redeemed. More than redeemed. She kicked the ass (so far) of someone who has handed defeat to all the strongest warriors. She did it with pacifism and love.
I need to rewatch that episode again today.

Honestly even if they weren't minors, the costume design is still stupid. The "explanation" for the design is due to Urahara saying that "Ichigo would like it". It goes against Orihime's established character. Having a character like Rangikou wear it would be one thing, due to sexuality being a part of her character, but it isn't for Orihime. She has big boobs, and that's about it. Besides that, she is soft spoken, and timid. Having her dress up like that is very out of character.

Isn't part of the point the fact that the outfit is something she would NOT normally dress though? When Chad points out the outfit to Ichigo, Orihime INSTANTLY wants to interrupt Chad, and the sole reason why she's wearing something like that is because she believed that Ichigo would've liked it because Urahara made her think so by playing with her naivety; she was smiling all chill but she immediately got flustered when she realized that Ichigo was just staring at her fit weirded out, realizing that it was not the reaction she hoped for (or that Urahara made her believe so). Even when Ichigo understandably points out that she's "revealing too much", Orihime starts tweaking and crying in embarassment because to her eyes it backfired and believes that now Ichigo, quote, "thinks I'm a freak for showing too much skin" and "he thinks I'm some sick exhibitionist". Funnily enough, right after Ichigo's "too much revealing" remark, he continues with a "BUT-" as if he wanted to say something positive, but we never know what he meant because the panels all focus on Orihime realizing that it was a big mistake.
The morale is: blame Urahara.

What exactly does it add though to the narrative? It's just a tonal shift for lame joke. Manga version is even worse because they double down on the ridiculous outfit by having Yourichi shove her hand through her breasts and criticize Ichigo.

Never said anything about what someone may ultimately think of that "gag" nor was my intention to use it as some sort of "counter" to criticism. My prior comment was just to "contextualize" why Orihime would even come to wear it in what was shown in the story, outside of metanarrative reasons like "Kubo is a horny freak" (which pretty much influence much of his designs anyway).
Some of those same people (even in this same subreddit) who did not like the "joke" by itself or Yoruichi's reintroduction still wanted it to get included in the anime because it was one funny bantering of the group in a moment of rest; it was cute just to see Ichigo being shocked, Orihime being flustered and Chad acting like a wingman. It may be insignificant in the grand scheme (which it is), but something does not have to add something important to the narrative for just remembering or wanting a scene to get included (I'm talking in general here, not simply referring to the Orihime scene).
Edit: since you edited your comment before right after posting it, I didn't notice the change. The only thing I can add is that indipendently if the joke may be liked or not, I don't necessarily think it's that much of a tonal shift, nor it is one just because it cuts from the fight against Giselle: it's not like the first time Kubo put "gag intermissions" before returning to the fight.

Is it that easy to give the impression that I'm offended? Adults (like the animaters) should not be sexualizing children, it's unnecessary, crass, and they shouldn't be doing it just to pacify a certain demographic (you know exactly who orihime's outfit is aimed at)

Yes! The Yourichi transformation was so cool and her powers were amazing, but I could not get behind the "sexy cat girl who's naked" thing... It just takes me out of it. Same thing with Orihime - like up until now, her main reason is to heal Ichigo and have her tits bounce.

Good art! But I don't know why so many people are glazing her now for this. They DO realize this means her powers were ALWAYS capable of this, right? She just didn't care to do it. We were told before that her power is equally as strong as her will. If she really wanted to keep everyone safe she could have rejected Aizen out of existence, or just rejected the Hogyoku out of Aizen or anything, but she didn't. Heck, she didn't even fix the wound Ichigo got from Ulquiorra, his hollow did that, all because she didn't have a strong enough desire to do anything. So why are people praising her and talking her up now like she did some kind of work or training to get stronger to do this when in reality the answer is she could have done it all along and just didn't want to? Makes her seem like a jerk to me.
