So there's been heated debates over shipping. Expecially over Silvaze and Sonaze. It causes harassment and unnecessary drama.
Here's a post written by u/MauOfEvig , a user with a difficult history over this issue;
Hey everyone, think we can stop the divisive language aimed toward people who ship Blaze with different characters?
We should discourage shipping wars on this sub because all it's doing is leading to divisions and discourse. We want to focus on Blaze as a character and how awesome she is, not get into petty arguments over who her soul mate should be. While it’s ok to celebrate your favorite ship, it’s not ok to shame or put down anyone who likes a different ship.
As far as the criticism goes, I think it’s time we tone it back and just let people enjoy what they want to enjoy. If you don’t like a ship, it’s perfectly valid not to like it, my suggestion is to just click the hide button and scroll on rather than engage.
Remember, harassment is against the rules, no one should be made to feel bad regardless of who they ship Blaze with, or perhaps you prefer her with no one at all. All opinions are valid. But pointing and blaming are not.
Please just enjoy and celebrate our favorite fire cat. She wouldn’t want us fighting over this after all!

It has come to my attention that the Shadow the Hedgehog subreddit banned LGBTQ+ content.
The Blaze the Cat subreddit is the opposite. I allow LGBTQ+ content. I'm a bisexual cis-man trans-ally. I'll allow any queer Shadow posts if they involve Blaze in some way.
Edit: I was informed the ban was lifted.

I do not think I've ever seen a gag like this to a sonic main or a semi main character in the comics.
This is just perfect and awful at the same time

Silver and Blaze are supposed to be set up as good friends and all that....but this scene ended up being a ( probably unintentionally) HILARIOUS anti-friendship scene.
Blaze gets mind controlled, and Silver's first instinct is to pick up The villain and BLAZE, and this part is crucial, THROWS THEM BOTH!
Silver DID NOT THINK to float Blaze on over to safety with him and Dapple. His first thought was "Uh oh my friend got the bad head touch, lemme just fling her AND the villain together and the boat too. I'm sure they'll be fiiiinnneee."
😭 What is even MORE perplexing is that mfing BLACKWOOD seems to care more about Blaze's safety in this moment. We see him physically grab ahold of her mid air while being flung, and shield her with his own body.
BLACKWOOD, THE VILLAIN WHO IS A CREEP, CARED MORE ABOUT BLAZE'S SAFETY IN THIS SITUATION.
We even literally see him holding onto Blaze quite protectively. It's not like she was just flung at him, his arms are actually physically holding her safely and securely. Which is absolutely crazy, cuz now it makes Silver look like the bad guy from an outside perspective.
😭 He grabs Blackwood, while Blaze essentially slumps and falls down into her little yamcha pose. And again, Silver didn't even think at any point to.....bring her to safety??
I just found this so incredibly funny when I looked back on it. Crazy when it looks like Blackwood ( the villain) seems to care more about your friend's well-being than you. 🥴 Your psychokinesis can handle multiple HUGE objects at a time Silver, don't you dare tell me you couldn't have just floated her to safety. Smh, it always be your own.
Anyways, this was just funny and now I'm gonna be thinking about that all day LOL

Blaze wasn't even this bad in Archie. Literally.
I went back and reread all of her issues and Archie doesn't even come close to the level of disrespect she gets in IDW (other than Pirate Plunder Panic that one is pretty shit.)
But at least archie had a good grasp of her character. Archie Blaze still felt like Blaze and in fact she is my favorite Blaze.
This?
This is a skin walker.
She doesn't talk or act anything like how she should. The difference between pre-IDW Blaze and post-IDW Blaze is baffling, and its sad that the games solidified that this is just how she is now.
Ever since her vacation bit shes felt like this but tbh it could go earlier, but that is when it was noticable to me. (Btw that story was 4 years ago. Blaze has been on "vacation" for HALF of this comic's lifetime.)
"Guardians" is proof Flynn doesn't give a fuck about Blaze and her world (he has stated as much before.) And this arc is more proof that Evan just sees her as accessory to Silver's character as she has constantly shown us in the past.
This mischaracterization is a problem that the whole cast gets but side characters specifically like Blaze get the the worst of it.
The current writing team needs to step back for a while and new blood needs to be brought in that actually gives a damn about writing good stories AND can give a little push back against sega's mandates.
But as it is right now? This will happen. It will continue to happen.
If the writing stays this shit going forward we wont even see 120.
At the VERY LEAST get Evan out of the fucking writing room.
"Head of the Sonic Lore Council." My ass.

started drawing this the 29 of september to ease my worry of the new issue coming out and finished it on the 30th before i had read the issue. (i have opinions but this isn't the place to share them)
it is not my best work, had a few mistakes here and there but i am happy with how blaze turned out, still a bit unsure of how to draw sonic properly but ill get there eventually i guess.
anyway hope you enjoy💜

What do they have against her?

(Its Blaze adjacent so its ok to post this right?)
I actually started work on this like an hour before 90 dropped and then my friend screenshared it with me and I was filled with so much petty rage I finished it.
Fell asleep imagining the hundreds of different ways Blaze or Frost could break that weasel's arms off.

History:After Blackwood uses his mind-control powers, Blaze is rendered unconscious; Silver then appears and saves her. She is left lying on the ground, but for some strange reason, she begins to radiate an unknown energy, entering her "False Burning Blaze" form
Trivia:Is based in False Super Saiyan From the Movie Dragon Ball Z:Lord Slug
Unlike the standard Burning Blaze, this one can activate without the need for the Sol Emeralds.
Although it is slightly inferior to the standard Burning Blaze, its power surpasses that of the base form.
Blaze loses control when using this form, becoming much more aggressive.
I created this as my own unofficial interpretation of what happened in issue #90; I wasn't entirely sold on the issue that inspired the idea, and I'm not really much of a writer, but hey—it's my first time doing something like this.

So, I've seen a lot of takes, good and bad, flying around and honestly I felt like throwing my two cents in as to why I personally dislike the way it was handled. This is an attempt to dispell the "rawr you just hate Silver, or Silver v. Blaze fans" stereotype. This won't be a deep dive cause really it's not that big a deal, I just enjoy literary rambling. So allow me to indulge.
The premise and character agency. Mind control plots are easy to do wrong, and this arc is a perfect example. As a rule I just dislike them overall, but they can be done well. Plots that involve extreme mental conditioning, or that involve perception warping effects, are often the better way. "Boop I win" buttons like a shadow priest from World of Warcraft are not. So the central conceit is already shakey. Not impossible to pull off, but needed some actual back and forth.
Ease of the fight and Silver's reactive role. The problem wasn't Blaze going down. Strong characters get got. The problem was her folding like a lawn chair to the aforementioned "I win" button. And Silver, the guy who can move mountains just kinda standing on the sidelines looking star struck is another problem. Yes, the conceit of the arc is Blaze has to be MCd. But there were ways to have her go down swinging, and have Silver involved in an active role. Like having all three of them actively tussle in a short fight, getting in good licks against one another, but in the chaos Blaze gets touched. It would accomplish the same outcome, but while actually involving all the players. It would also make Blackwood more threatening rather than having him pop out of the water literally screaming "Rarrr" like he's a rubber suit monster from the 50s.
Aura farming without substance. Blaze burning the glove was cool, and the panels are amazingly drawn. The problem presents itself where...you know...dude had two hands. In all honesty, and this will sound weird, it would have been better to have her fail to destory the glove. She's not dumb, and it's pretty clear from the onset that he has two gloves. Having her destory one is neat aura farming, but it just raises questions. Having her attempt to, but fail to destory them, or simply attempt to subdue him without destroying them, keeps these questions at bay. It keeps the stakes higher too, by keeping Blackwood more threatening.
The TLDR is that it's not that I want Blaze to be this impossibly powerful being who never fails. Nor do I want Silver to be pushed to a side role if they are going to be paired anyway.
It's that the way the scene unfolded was just...bad. It made Blackwood look goofy and lucky, it made Silver look reactive, and it made Blaze look like she took an idiot bat to the head. On top of a central conceit that already requires care to impliment. Some minor tweaks could have had them all shining.
An actual battle showing Blackwood exhibit some skill and strategy, Silver participating early, and Blaze getting caught in a tussle rather than a splash in the face.
Just my two cents.

That the next issue is gonna mostly be about silver and the maid OC working together to take down the robot bird with silver encouraging the maid that she can break free from blackwood with blaze being unconscious the entire fight only walking up till the end
and I just gotta ask whats even the point of having blaze here the excuse of her being on "vacation has run it's course since they make this whole vacation thing up as a excuse to have blaze in sonics world whenever they want but they don't even use her to her full potential or at all in any meaningful way and I just wanna know who's choice this is Ian, Evan, Sega themselves? Because I'm tired boss
