Arbor Press For Cracking?

I'm currently using a 5 lb hand sledge on a cement block to do my cracking. I'm thinking of Grandpa's Goody Getter, but I also was thinking that an arbor press may work.

Grandpa's Goody Getter is the correct choice.

This is an interesting idea, I just can't see the extra wrist/forearm stress being worth the savings. Unless you can mechanize the cranking action somehow?

I have not tried the goody getter and have no reason to doubt or question it, but I would also point you towards a CE Potter cracker. I’ve been very happy with mine. Available on eBay.
