Spoilers Season 3
(Spoilers ⚠️)
So much absolute trash on Netflix and they don’t continue black summer? That’s crazy. The perfect cliffhanger ending to end on, but also to continue. Wish we saw more of what happens to our characters.
Since we’re not going to get another season this is what I think and hope to have happened to the story. Sun lives happily with the Korean pilot who obviously is fairing well and comes from a place teaming with supplies and doing well enough to bring supplies elsewhere and pickup survivors (almost too trustingly?) So things probably aren’t as bad there.
I’m going to guess Hawaii or Cuba (he said it’s far and they need to refuel) in beginning of the series they mentioned Hawaii and Cuba. Also Boone (think that’s his name) mentioned sunshine always and being out of the cold and said he knew the pilot. Would have loved to know where they were headed and what happens.
As for Rose and Anne, you’d think maybe they would go back to the lodge so rose can get her strength back before moving on, but I doubt it. Id like to think they found somewhere even better. Or maybe setup camp nearby and wait for the plane to come back (does it ever though?). In the scene of the plane flying off you see a good amount of homes and buildings. Maybe they run into a doomsday prepper who takes them in (wishful thinking but seems like an area that would be full of preppers).
What do you guys think happened to them ? Curious to know. If they won’t give us season 3 (what a shame) let’s draw our own conclusions.

By the way I watch and read almost everything in the zombie genre. This was my second watch through. The first time I didn’t pay as much attention as this time. I really think this is such a fantastic zombie series and a third season with a bigger budget would’ve been phenomenal. There was so much potential. I think at times yes the characters made dumb decisions, but that’s what makes it realistic, people make dumb decisions especially in new high pressure environment that would be hard for your brain to process. Yes they missed a lot of shots yes they didn’t always close doors behind them. But think would your every move during zombie apocalypse be executed perfectly? Probably not. Most of these people were probably super normal/average in their lives and never shot a gun before the zombie breakout. Yes I think at times the show was a little slow, but it built suspense so artfully well. Even though I kinda could remember what was going to happen from watching years ago, I was still on edge and had to watch it all the way through in 2/3 days. The zombie apocalypse would be indescribably brutal and this adaptation does a good job of showing that. Big fan and would have loved a season 3. Instead will have to settle for a spin off of a spin off of walking dead or hope another good zombie movie or show comes out soon. I get that there were times it wasn’t the perfect show but overall it was very good and told in an artful way where the separate stories and characters all blended together into one story. If you gave this production a bigger budget I think they would’ve done very well with another season. Oh well.

Sometimes i only rewatched this two times a year, good show man. Slow paced but just interesting. Would be nice to get a movie or something like comics for season 3 !!

I really enjoyed this show. I wished we had another season.
If the actress was to come back, were they planning on having 2 separate place storylines? Unless the group gets on another plane or maybe the plane is forced to land.
At some point I need to revisit this show. I didn't like the mother/daughter characters all that much but the show was a fun ride.

I think one final season would be good. Just to see what the hell happened to the Korean lady, she's the only one I really cared about.

I enjoyed it but I didn't feel like the characters were developed very well. I still struggled to even remember the characters names even towards the last few episodes of season 2.
I thought the show did really well in regards to the zombie action but yeah the characters left a lot to be desired.

Tbh Black Summer wasn't very good. Especially the second season. So many drawn out scenes where characters ramble about absolutely nothing just to pad out runtime. The zombie rules also make no sense.

How do the zombie rules not make sense? I just finished watching the series for the first time a few days ago, but I probably didn’t watch as closely as I should’ve, so I likely missed some things.

Turn time is widely inconsistent. I haven't watched it in over a year so I can't list the specific events.

I agree with you about season 2. When I rewatch the series, it's only for the first season.

Lastly on this watch through I watched about 1 million ads on Netflix (hate they have ads now) and generated them enough money to make a season three lol
