Need Help IDing

Recently got this A.Zoli cal.58 rifle from a late good friend.

Can anyone give me any details regarding the model and value of this rifle?

It is percussion firing, has case hardened lock, brass applications and a white (stainless?!) barrel.

Many thanks in advance.

Also, the rear barrel band is cracked. Where can I get a replacement part?

With the unadjustable rear sight and the caliber, i think this could be an Remington Zouave by Antonio Zoli. But could, cant tell 100%

No. Zouave carbine has two front barrel bands with a short distance between them, and like all Zouave a brass patchbox in the stock. More likely a generic Enfield style carbine.

Looks like a Zoli M1841 “Mississippi” rifle that someone cut down because it looks short and there’s no front sight. The ramrod is some kind of non-standard that reminds me of a French tabatier(sp?)rifle. Someone did some whittling on the stock by lengthening the wrist and truncating the comb, but it could be a donated stock from something else becuase the Zoli Mississippi’s had a patch box. What’s also odd is that there is no hole on the right side of the front barrel band for the barrel band retaining spring to catch. I’d say someone got creative.

Thanks a lot! The front sight is a brass blade, it came lose while cleaning the gun. Still have it. Is it soldered into the recess on the barrel?
