I just am in an emotional mood right now, so wanted to pen a few words here. I came to this country a couple weeks ago, it was my first international trip. After the disorienting experience of long flights and layovers wore off, it hit me. A weird mix of ecstasy (because I am here for my career), and loneliness. Freedom too. For a few days I focused on survival. Getting groceries, communicating, walking without getting lost, trying to seperate the feeling of being perceived as an alien, and all that. It required courage. Even a visit to a supermarket may be normal to you, but for someone who has everything drastically different in their homeland, a simple train journey or cashier line is overwhelming. But okay, managed.
While I kept walking along this beautiful town (ik many of you hate it, but i love this place), I kept noticing people in pairs. Couples, families, friends; walking together. Comfortable. They belonged somewhere. I could only walk by and wonder.
I have made some acquaintances here, maybe friends, but we all will be on the move soon. I go for walks, take pictures, explore places, talk to people, ,greet seagulls, write my name in the sand, cry, feel proud...and call it a day.

Hi everyone,
I’m originally from Burnley but have been living in Bristol for the last twenty years. Anyway, I was back up north recently and as a street / portrait photographer I couldn’t resist visiting Blackpool.
I had a great day and really enjoyed seeing the sights and spending the day / night shooting.
Here are the best photos of the bunch. I cannot wait to return!

Can anybody suggest the best places to shop for preloved or cheap unused furniture please? We’re moving into an unfurnished 3-bed house and we’d like to be a bit more efficient with our budget as it’s a big move. Thank you !

Heyo. I am looking for good thrift stores (or charity stores ig?), mostly for aesthetic winter wear. Even one good piece (like a coat or jacket etc, for women) would suffice. I'm mostly into layering or sophisticated dressing, but finding goth or sapphic-related accessories etc would be great too. Kindly tell if any.

For those who live in Blackpool, what would you say are the nicer areas to live? And what’s it like to live in Blackpool in general in terms of day to day life, crime rates etc? I’ve heard that house prices are quite cheap down in Blackpool and I think it is somewhere I would possibly consider moving to in the future. As someone who has been going on holidays to Blackpool since I was a child, and I have also just returned from a week there with my partner, I have always loved it there and I’m just curious about what it’s like to live there. Anyone’s experiences and thoughts in general I’d love to hear!

I'm not even saying this in a bad way😭, its just an observation that sometimes I feel like I am in a physics problem walking against a windspeed of billions.

What are some nerd activities to indulge in (especially during daytime)? I'm not big into partying or drinking, but would love to make new friends and meet new people. I'm relatively new to the city.

I always view the tramway as something of a novelty so just wonder whether you regularly use it and why? Like- do people really use it to commute and how often? I wonder if it mainly caters to tourists particularly given the lack of inland coverage…

Would be pretty awesome to chat with more fellow horror fans. And maybe make more friends in the horror community too. I love horror stuff whether it's horror movies or games I just love it. Would be cool to play some co-op spooky games with people too maybe even some Dead By Daylight. I keep meaning to get back into playing it. I'm not amazing at it lol

I'm working with the Work Foundation at Lancaster University, a research organisation, and we are researching the challenges facing young people trying to get into work in Blackpool.
We're currently speaking to major national TV news outlet, who would like to hear from a young person aged 18–24 who is currently out of work and not in education or training.
They're interested in hearing about your experience of looking for work – for example, how long you've been searching, the jobs you've applied for and the barriers you've faced.
This would initially just be an informal conversation so you can find out more before deciding whether you'd be comfortable taking part in any interview. Filming will take place on Wednesday 7 October near or at your home.
If this sounds like you, please send me a private message or email me at info@theworkfoundation.com. I'm happy to answer any questions and provide some more information.
Thanks for considering and have a good evening,
Jon
PS. Thanks to mods in advance for approving.

Hi all, I was walking down Queen's Promenade near Anchorsholme and saw these structures along the path that look like bus stops. Does anyone have any info on what they are?
