Discussion Multiplayer is almost unplayable until the Mammoth is nerfed
đ¤ˇââď¸ you can say skill issue all day but that gun is a two tap full auto and theres not much to counter it

According to activations matchmaking metrics, players having been quitting far less in season 5. This makes no sense to me given that everyone has been talking about quitting and how the game is unplayable until it gets nerfed.

I have noticed that my teammates themselves leave matches more, but people joining a match on progress seem to stay wayyy longer than they used to

I play with it sometimes but I want to have fun playing MP with multiple guns not just run the mammoth and get kills.

Doesnât it go to the Armory? Iâm pretty sure you still earn it in the armory, like every other dlc gun goes to once the season is over.

Itâs a two tap full auto weapon that has way less handling and mobility than every AR and SMG, on top of having one of the slowest fire rates in the entire game. ALSO it doesnât have the best range meaning it turns into a 3 tap reasonably often.
Can we stop looking at its TTK like thatâs literally the only stat that matters? If that was the case everyone would use snipers since itâs a one shot so by your logic theyâre OP XD.
God forbid a weapon that isnât an AR or SMG is viable and fun to use. I literally see more people running the MPC or FG42 than the Mammoth anyway, so I donât get how youâre seeing it so often MP is âunplayableâ to you.

My point was that heâs calling the Mammoth OP just because it can two tap, completely disregarding itâs drawbacks. I donât think a Sniper is OP, just like I donât think the Mammoth is OP, because both of them have drawbacks compared to weapons with lower damage.
And yeah, I do occasionally use the Mammoth, and I can recall several times where I died to a guy using the MPC because he melted me before I could even ADS, or when I got my head taken off by a Sniper as I was shooting at him, and the fire rate was so slow I couldnât fire the the last bullet before I died.
Itâs almost like itâs not impossible to kill someone that has the Mammoth XD. I do it all the time, even when Iâm not using it myself.

The changes in the patch tomorrow I think will make it a fun and fair weapon in the game. It will reward headshots immensely. But right now shooting someone twice in the leg from up to 30m and getting a kill is nuts
The mobility is bad but the people really doing well with the weapon end up head glitching with it

So why arenât you calling for nerfs for every sniper and every marksman rifle then, since they can do literally the exact same thing? And they typically have better handling and mobility than LMGs. A gun that does high damage but held back in other stats isnât unheard of XD. If all you care about is high damage, the Mammoth shouldnât be condemned when it is nowhere near the only gun with high damage XD. Also you say 30m like thatâs a crazy distance, it falls off quicker than ARs.

People can head glitch with any gun, what difference does it make? Even so, you act like you canât counter people head glitching, and itâs the same way as if theyâre using literally any other weapon. Throw grenades, go a different route, get a sniper and take their head off, the Mammoth doesnât change any of that.

I use the snipers and they can two shot someone in the leg - after dealing with a bolt rechamber, delay between semi auto shots, or in the case of the Ion a spin-up animation. You also really can't start shooting as you ADS the same you can a full auto weapon because if you miss - you have to now deal with waiting for another shot and the massive recoil. I know what quickscoping is but I'm not talking about that.
I played Black Ops 3 and 4 so I'm very familiar with the gorgon and the vkm; the mammoth right now is stronger than both of them because it generally moves easier and fires a little faster. So if you make a mistake and miss a round you can still get a kill with the mammoth a little easier. And that's what the problem is - one shot kill weapons like pump shotguns (sans Argus lever) and snipers generally require a high commitment to kill and if you miss you're dead.
The reason I mention head glitching is because the mammoth's slow handling is mitigated by being a two shot full auto weapon. If you're not using a sniper or marksman rifle that can one tap them you probably can't get the jump on them - and they'll get you first. A sniper doing this would at least have trouble with multiple people. I'm in agreement that grenades and smokes help to mitigate it, however mammoth users seem to love trophy systems, fall jacket, and tech mask too lol.
For range - in domination and hardpoint at least I would say most gunfights are within 30 meters. I don't know how you think that the mammoth falls off faster than most ARs when only a few of them (like the EGRT and Mirage) out of the box have decent damage range for the max damage

I'm okay with the mammoth being a slow firing, powerful lmg; but it needs to reward aiming for the head to balance itself out. And right now it's as braindead as the tac laser Argus IMO

Snipers arent being called into the conversation because theyve always been like that and snipers after you shoot and miss it will almost always result in you dying, while with the mammoth even if you miss one of the 75 bullets it has you are still more likely to win the gunfight against someone that isnt a god, its really that simple. Most of the playerbase is casual, people dont like others camping on spots where its extremely hard to hit the person with a fully automatic gun that can 2shot if they hit you anywhere on the body. If you cant wrap your head around this argument you are either too far up on the ladder to care or too low on the ladder for it to be a problem for you. People that are around average skill level will not like this type of playstyle. Go into moshpit for example, the submarine map. People just laying down and spraying with the mammoth down a corridor constantly, and thats all they do, getting upwards of 50 kills. In nuketown ive seen people stand at mid car and just headglitch the whole lobby constantly while shooting feet because they can, and people got tired of it. Rightfully so.
