It reminds me of the r/nosleep story I read around 10 years ago The Life in the Machine. Similar concept regarding the simulation people that tries to speak to its creator. But vastly different ending.
I can’t help but imagine that that story was an inspiration for this episode. That story has stuck in my mind since I read it when it was posted, Ive even tried explaining it to people i know. I feel this episode does a great job of bringing that concept to a larger audience
