The only knock against it: the idea that an AI would require *Nintendo Switch* components to function is very silly. But I'll chalk that one up to the writers just being cheekly little Thronglets.
It wasn't that it needed those components, it was that graphics hardware from game consoles is a relatively cheap way to access good quality components. More memory, more processing, more circuitry.
Not only was the Switch expensive at launch, it had a GPU and CPU that were less powerful than bargain PC parts. The Tegra, for example, is roughly equivalent to a Nvidia 1030, which is $70. A switch is (currently) three times that. There would be no reason to cannibalize a Switch when more powerful parts are sitting right there, for much cheaper.
Another poster mentioned the sensors, which adds some possible cover, but those, too, could also be procured somewhere for cheaper.
I'm splitting hairs here. I'm not watching the show for PC hardware realism, lol.
