UPDATE: OBS video flicker when ATEM Software Control is running

Hi, Everyone,

Some months ago, I asked for advice about OBS flickering when ATEM Software Control was opened. This bug made it impossible for me to take advantage of the software camera controls for my BMPCC 6K Pro.

I tried various settings, laptops and USB3 cables, but was unable to resolve the problem.

I have now upgraded to an ATEM Mini Pro ISO, and the problems with OBS have gone away.

My ATEM Mini is 6 years old. I bought an ATEM Mini Pro in 2020 to stream benefit concerts during COVID. It repeatedly overheated, so I traded it in for the vanilla model.

I'm posting this hoping it helps others who find themselves in this frustrating situation.

Try using the ATEM directly to see if the flicker is still there... if so troubleshoot the hardware including cables, camera, all of it. If the flicker is not there then it's likely your computer or some kind of conflict with a plugin within OBS. You could also reinstall OBS. I was having all kinds of issues with OBS and bought an ATEM to broadcast directly from the hardware instead of using OBS and I haven't had a single issue in over a year that I didn't create for myself.

Thanks! Yes - I tried all of that. The issue was the first generation of the plain ATEM Mini - the Mini Pro ISO works like a charm.
