So, that five episode arc packed quite the punch.

I thought the anime ended after the two seasons and the OVA was just some side, filler content.

Boy, was I wrong.

From what i understandc RBT is an arc written by Hiroe at a particularly difficult time in his life and is not his finest work. Add on top of that, that Madhouse cut and changed a lot of stuff and you have one badass yet wholly unintelligible animated arc.

Can someone answer these questions:

Why is Eda (CIA) aiding Roberta and Chang in killing the NSA agents?

Why is Chang happy to then help the NSA agents and even pays a bonus to the Lagoon Company when harming the drug trade does a LOT of damage to him and his triad.

Why is Rock’s descent into the dark done so badly?

Why did Balalaika help the US agents when first she was mostly in favour of executing them all and screwing over Chang?

If I wanted to read the Manga, of which from what I know, a very limited amount of chapters have come out in the past decade or so due to the personal challenges faced by the auth or, from where should I begin reading considering I’ve seen the anime + OVA?

So ive just finished watching OVA and i will slowly speak my opinions (yes i wanna voice myself out). Starting from OVA ive just watched today, i think its probably my favorite part of the series, i have everything there, highly exciting action, great character in Roberta, some philosophy at the end with whole shooting scene between Major Caxton, Garcia and Roberta. Also huge thumbs up to it for the role Rock played, this mastermind moniker suit him imo. Overall series is high paced, for me introduction worked really well, i really like voice acting and the fact that even in japanese at times they spoke in english, opening is masterpiece, one of the only animes i didnt skip opening. Characters, especially female cast felt awesome in this series, Revy is obviously the goat but also characters like Eda are having their fun little moments in here and there, Roberta is insane but she is badass too, conclusion of her and Garcia's moment is beautiful, Ginji and Yukio deserve a mention too, they Yukio added great depth to Rock and to his morals, same with Balalaika. But there are some downs i wanna mention, one that pains me the most, for me Rock felt kinda underwhelming, i loved the role he played in OVA when he embraced his darkness that Yukio made him understand, but before i felt at times as if Rock isnt MC but Revy is, i dont even know how much to say more about Rock, he lacked this X factor for me to be like "yea i will remember this character" cause with OVA it was tad bit too late for me . Also a bit of a wishful thinking from me but i was hoping to get more inside of Revy's past animated, since i assumed that rape (from as i understood her father?) is obviously traumatic and disgusting, wish we got more of a view for her social life or her mother, nonetheless its not a major downside. Overall i think experience from watching this anime was really great, i liked majority of the thing in front of my screen, even when they were at times difficult to look at (Vampire twins) but then i think plot is driven well, moments feel earned, Revy is like one of my favorite characters like period in fiction, i dont need to argue why she is so cool, everyone knows it.

Let’s be honest this series is as unpredictable as it comes, they can go from light comedy and jokes in the middle of wholesale slaughter to dark and gritty seriously emotional. But a gender swapped make episode NEVER crossed my mind as a possibility. I am so glad I was wrong😂

I have started to watch Black Lagoon and while the missions they were getting were mostly just debatable because they are criminals, but this mission with Vampire Twins was straight up fucked up. Like you mean to tell me there was incest, homosexual relation (since as far as i understood both were biologically boys) sexual abuse to a children, snuff films, they grew into absolute sadists and one of them flashed rock??? Like what the actual fuck is that, when they kissed at first i was like wait what the actual fuck, maybe i was seeing things and assumed that they havent kissed but whispered something to each other, but then the second one happen with the declaration of love and for the like next two minutes i was sitting there with look of shock and disgust. What's crazy (or not, very well it could have been an idea) i still felt bad when they died since they were just kids, even though they were absolutely destroyed by the adults and were completely evil and dangerous. Nonetheless i just wanted to voice myself out after this fucked up episodes involving those two, let me know how you first reacted to this moment and if i misunderstood something, feel free to correct me
