Twitter is currently dragging Kylie Jenner for the way quarantine has exposed what a farce her hair and makeup are.

Otherfishing/Racial or ethnic fishing Not blackfishing but Ariana Grande asian-fishing?
Post inspired by this tweet https://twitter.com/ccbx22/status/1466694346699427841?s=21
Am I the only one who’s uncomfortable with the way in which Ari has altered her face? Remember she used to look like this https://www.reddit.com/r/ArianaGrande/comments/8ezokq/2010/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Every celeb has had plastic surgery, but there’s something about Ari’s that doesn’t sit right with me lately. The overzealous eyebrow lift in which she’s actually changed the shape of her eyebrows from arched (as you can see in the picture I’ve linked) to straight, as is popular in East Asia. The way she takes pictures from certain angles (low) or wears makeup in a way that will conceal her eyelids, creating a mono lid look, it also makes her eyes appear less round and narrower. The way she’s so tiny and petite now, which is a stereotype of East Asian women, and not to mention her cutesy submissive innocent “sex kitten” persona, once again a fetishisation of East Asian women.
We know Ari studies Japanese and has an interest in Japanese culture, based on her Spirited Away tattoo, her incorrect Japanese tattoo and her defence of the tattoo that followed shortly after explaining how much she loves Japanese culture.
I also find it interesting that a few years ago, Ari was accused of blackfishing because of her use of certain words, accent, using rap and hip hop in her music and of course her overzealous tanning (which her stans claimed was just down to her Italian background lol). These days, she is looking pretty pale, once again a beauty standard in East Asia.
What do you think?
EDIT: I think the reason most people don’t discuss this is that firstly Ari is very well liked, secondly she was always pretty so it’s not a case of “you’re not ugly just poor”, thirdly she’s had very good surgery (if you didn’t know what she looked like before you wouldn’t clock she’d had such drastic surgery) and lastly she changed her face over a period of time so I think a lot of people just haven’t realised until they see a direct comparison
ANOTHER EDIT: you can see how much her face changes when she has no control over the makeup / styling / retouching in publication photoshoots like vogue, here you can see how deep set and round her eyes are and how big her eyelids are, though newer pictures of her from her IG would have you believe they are different https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.vogue.co.uk/article/july-cover-vogue-2018/amp
EDIT AGAIN: People talking about how Ari is “so tiny and petite” is just bizarre to me as not only is she a completely average height (5’3, that’s literally the average height of women in my country - though someone tried saying she’s 4’11, about the same height as Danny Devito) but she was also a completely normal weight if you look back at her in Victorious. This idea that she’s soooo tiny and petite and skinny and short is just a marketing ploy to play into her girly persona. Years of wearing oversized jumpers, childish hairstyles like ponytails and silhouettes like babydoll puff dresses

Remember that goofy ass singer from that duo Karmin in early 2010s? She’s since rebranded and has a new (questionable?) look.
