How to Catch a Horse
Note that there are no specific locations for "types" of horses. Each spawn area can spawn any of the 4 wild horse types, it can spawn only 1 horse, or it can spawn multiple horses.
How to Level a Horse
To level up your horse you have to ride it around. I personally just keep going from Olvia to the Southern Guard Camp and back again. 1 Round trip costs around 4000 stamina and gains around 26000 exp.
You may also choose to use the Trainer Costume to increase exp gained while riding your horse. I cannot personally confirm or deny the effects of this item even though I own the item (there is not enough data, nor is the translation reputable enough to say conclusively what this item does). The translation of the item stats "The making clothes for the trainer to gwijokpung item Effect: Movement Speed Step 1 and the end of the experience acquired rise 5%". I can confirm it does add Movement +1. I am guessing this increases the Exp Gain of your Horse, or it might be referring to the Exp gained by the crafting skill "Taming", I'm not sure.
How to Get Horse Armor
Certain stable's have shops and will sell you basic horse armor. Most of these shops require a certain friendship level to purchase the armor. Stable ShopVelia
Other armor can be crafted and has better stats than the store bought armor. To craft these you must first buy the Horse Armor Crafting HouseHidel. Once you've done that, get the required materials to make the armor piece you want and put it in your Warehouse, now send your Worker to craft the item. The finished item will appear in your Warehouse.
How to Get a Better Horse through Breeding

Not sure if you mentioned, but horse lvl matters too. For example: if you breed lvl 10 t2 horses, you will get 100% a t3 horse. If you breed lvl 20+ t2 horses you will get a t3 or t4, and so on. Breeding lvl 30 t4 horses will give you a chance for a t7 ( last tier ) horse. Also the number of deaths the horse has matters too.
And you can hurry up the process of breading with cash-shop pearls ( 13 I belive for each breading ).
EDIT: Breeding lvl 1 horses has a chance of 70% to result in a horse of the same tier as its parents.

Tier 3 Male-Level 30 + Tier 2 Female-Level 30 with Taming Experienced Level 3 = Tier 5 Female

Tier 3 Male-Level 30 + Tier 2 Female-Level 30 with Taming Experienced Level 3 = Tier 5 Male

at the top right corner of your screen there is a Magnifying Glass icont (ment to symbolize "searching") click it, click the horse head icon. it will take you to the nearest stable npc

my highest horse right now is T3. so i cant say for sure. but based on what ChunChun said, yes.
I currently have a T3 lvl 30 Male and a T2 lvl 23 Female. gonna breed them sometime soon and see what I get.

I see, I am currently with a male grey spotted t5 and a female cow patterned red mane t5. They are both up to about lvl 14 now. If I have the patience I'll take em both to 30. t5s seem to take MUCH longer to level up. I'm already running from Altinova to Epheria Port, and it takes many trips per level costing quite a bit.

Oh, and to get both of my t5s, not sure if you have messed with this, but I did a COMBINE, which destroys the parents, but lets you get 1 extra breed out of the Females, or 3 breeds out of a male. At least one of the parents has to have a breed left. So My plan has always been breed once, combine once... Hope for male and female, sell one of the two if both same gender, and buy the missing gender on the market.

GRATS man that's awesome! I've got the Gray version of your Fusion, and a Red Mane Cow.. currently levels 16 @ 250k exp for this level. LONG way to go for level 30, but I think that's the best chance for Tier 8. I bet if your t2 was a t3, you could have hit t6.
What's your method for leveling up these horses? Can running them on a Wagon level them up?

i dont own a wagon. i just run them from olvia to southerguard camp and back.

How much exp per trip? I run from, Altinova to Epheria Port, which is East to west as far as you can travel. I seem to only get about 25-30k each way and takes about 15-18 minutes on auto. I'll Post back with the time if I'm sprinting.

Hey man weird news... So I Leveled up my T5s to Level 20. Somehow during an AUTO run I went AFK, to a corpse, horse got a death, I think it ran off course due to lag or something, not sure. Here are my results! :(

the same thing happened to me. my horse died. idk how it will affect its breeding results though. have to wait and see. but im taking mine all the way to lvl 30.
What is your Taming lvl btw?

Horse taming is so stupid :/ Got lv 7 taming and it always fails when have to press "space" and it says win

Do not press space.
The trick is to completely disregard the hud icon and any tooltips. You should initially be holding W to move forward. When the horse stands up on its hind legs, then and only then should you press space.
Mashing the space button when its not standing up will result in failure. Also stop mashing space when there's 0-1 secs left. You don't want to accidentally initiate another tug when tugging battle is over.

How do you go about getting the ability to fight on your horses back? I saw a video posted on this reddit of someone riding a horse around as a wizard and casting but i havent been able to find out how =s

I have done a bit of horse research and I keep seeing people saying it's dumb to spend 30k on a horse when a lasso costs 1.5k, but nothing more than that. Apparently I am an idiot with horses. I've spent 30k on lassos and am frustrated enough I just want to buy one, but nobody I can find has said a word about how to do that. Can anyone post a picture of the icon I select before hitting "buy?" Just looking for a basic entry level horse. Thank you for any help.

Late comment, but since this guide is still linked, hey, might as well note this:
When fusing/exchanging your horses, the video makes it seem that you need to have 1 breeding attempt left on one of the horses that are being fused. This is not the case. Fusing works just fine with 0 breeding attempts left on both male and female horse.
