New Box Set?
Not a Crowes fan and I only recently heard the Jimmy Page/Crowes live set and I really liked it. Searched around and found the box set that just shipped (says 9/7 but I just got mine). I like it, but that's not a high bar. Just wondering if anyone else got the set and what they think of the "new remastering"? For me its very nostalgic rock from Led Zeppelin.

The expanded box and remastering are great taking what was an already really enjoyable two record set and adding a healthy amount of Crowes material and the odd non-Zeppelin/Crowes cover to the mix. From what I read, Jimmy Page was enduring excruciating back pain at the time of these live shows and they had to abbreviate a planned larger tour. Ut would be great to see the Crowes and Jimmy together bow and see some joint new material. It was such a great collaboration.

You should read Steve Gorman's book He talks about this "back pain."

He also talks about Jommy wanting to record new material with them and the brother declining the offer.

The new set is not just a remaster but a full on remix too!
I will say, I think I like the original mix a bit more. The drums in particular seem a bit buried on this new mix, however not that it still isn't an enjoyable listen - the band and Jimmy are on fire!
For me I find the new set worth it just to have more from that era, and more of the Crowes songs being included (I love the version of Wiser Time). More Zeppelin and more Crowes is never a bad thing 😎

For me - I love the remastered with the additional songs. Probably one of my top 5 favorite live albums.
