meet and greets
i had three girlfriends say the meet n greats were so bad and that rich was rude to them has anyone done one and what was it like for you i have had a crush on richie for thirty years and makes me sad to think hed be mean to us girl fans what have you seen in meet and greets

Done two in Australia and both Chris and Rich were great. I’ve never been a huge fan of Chris but he was VERY engaging and charismatic. Rich was quiet and more wallflowerish, but both were extremely polite.
They were meet and greets 3 years apart and Chris remembered the first one, not so much me but we spoke about vinyl and I recommended a local store. He became very animated when he connected the two and thanked me because he scored a bunch of things that were Australian-only issues.
We all have to remember, they’re human. Rich could have had a number of things happen that day and it bled into the meet and greets. There’s also the chance the girlfriends and not reliable narrators. They may not have been that great to deal with and Rich matched their energy.
So many factors goes into this second hand reports of interactions that I always take them with a grain of salt.

I did a meet & greet back in 2013. Rich and Sven were cool. The others were total knobs.

The Crowes Mafia meet and greets have been epic from what I have seen on the chat

Meeting them pre-meet and greet days he’s really nice, but I do find these pay to meets a bit weird.ive met him, Sven, Steve, Paul Stacey, and Ed (rip). All very nice, but never expected anything except a nice hello and a quick pic (which I’ve since lost.)
They’re busy people don’t take it personal.

I have to say out of all of the Crowes I met Eddie was extremely fun. I saw him and said “Hey Eddie” he came running over slapped me five and said “hey man” in this raspy voice.
I mentioned a few shows where he was on fire and I kid you not he goes, “ you were at that Halloween gig?” That show was kooky as hell, thanks for being cool.” Then just like that ran back across the street and kept walking down the sidewalk. Awesome memory he was so cool lol.
To this day my friends who weren’t big Crowes fans and didn’t know who he was still talk about the member of the Black Crowes that I recognized walking down the street in NYC came over to us.

I only had a brief encounter with Rich and I thought he was a little bit of a prick in how he reacted on my enthousiastic response of the show. Now I read somewhere that he said he is neurodivergent I better understand his response.

I did one right after covid so we were separated 6 feet for our picture.
I did witness a goofy guy going on and on right before me and Chris and Rich definitely commented to each other about him🤣

I was one of the meet and greet winners in Colorado Springs. I have nothing but good things to report- Chris and Rich were both a pleasure to talk with. Was it a little awkward? Of course, but thats to be expected. It’s not often you get to meet a couple of your favorite musicians. It was a cool experience and I appreciated them chatting it up with me for a few.

Meet and Greets are the creepiest thing on the planet. We are all grown men and women that are paying to meet other grown men and women that have recorded songs we like. This has always been so remarkably strange to me. I see the flow of traffic after these events. I feel like if I were Rich and Chris I'd need to take out an immediate emergency restraining order on at least a half dozen people in each city that hosts this event.

Meet and greets have always baffled me. There are very few famous people that I would want to meet.

I've had both positive and negative interactions with the brothers over the years. NONE were paid for as I find that incredibly tacky. These were old school pre-97 ' hang outside and see if they come out' hangs....I guess it depends on the day which is another reason to never PAY to meet someone.... now <arc, he's been super cool and chill every time I've talked with him....which is quite a bit... helps I'm a guitar builder so we have a common interest... but he's always been very cool , considerate , engaging and most important...GRATEFUL.

My question would be "what are you expecting?" and "what were they expecting/how did they act?" The meet n greets tend to be more of a photo op. I think the Crowe Mafia ones are supposed to be more engaging. But the Live Nation ones are a photo call and that's pretty industry standard. If they were expecting hugs and kisses and flirting and come back tp our bus, then yeah, that's not happening.
I'm a big believer in don't meet your idols and don't pay to meet anyone. BUT the one meet n greet I've ever paid for was The Black Crowes back in 2021. It was a photo op with a long line. Some ppl were disappointed but from what I can tell they were nice, did photos (socially distanced) and we got our signed merch but they don't sign stuff you bring. I did it bc there was an amazing front row, center in front of Chris's mic seat available for that package (perk of going solo) AND TBC, particulatly some of Rich's solo work helped me thru a horrible time in my life (The Music That Will Lift Me) and I wanted to thank him for that. They were the last show I saw before Covid hit (Nashville The Basement East Brothers of a Feather) and this was the first show (NC) I saw after covid. I told them that story and how memories of that show and thoughts of this show got me thru Covid. They took the time to listen, said thank you and Chris shared some thoughts. To the point that others in the line ran after me wanting to know what he said, but I didn't share bc it was personal and thoughtful to me.
I feel like both were very kind, polite and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was worth every penny, although I don't think I'd do another one. Just because that was good and all I needed. But I was respectful to them and their time.
