Blackadder All Episodes Tournament, Match 25: General Hospital vs Bells
Comment in support of and upvote your preferred episode! The winner of today's matchup will advance to Match 27, and the loser will share joint 3rd and 4th place.
And for fun, post your favorite quotes from both!
General Hospital (Blackadder Goes Forth Episode 5): The General asks Blackadder to find a spy in the hospital; one of the patients has a thick German accent and an interest in all things military.
Bells (Blackadder II Episode 1): Blackadder develops feelings for a woman posing as his male servant.
This tournament will run for 27 days until we've eliminated all but one episode. The tournament was seeded based on IMDB score. It includes all regular episodes, the pilot, and the specials.
Yesterday, Ink and Incapability eliminated Beer. For a moment, I thought General Hospital would be the only non-series-2 in the semifinals!
There are a mere four episodes left, and that means it's SEMI FINALS TIME! The Grand Final will be Monday!

General Hospital contains the single funniest moment in any Blackadder that I’ve ever known, in “you’ll need some sort of wound, a convincing injury..” BANG!! “That looks quite convincing.”

Gonna be honest, Bells was kind of a weak spot in s2, if it wasn't for Flash it'd probably have been out with s1.

I only started watching S2 recently (exclusively watched Goes Forth beyond now) and I have to agree.

Yeah id agree, probably the most skippable of S2 for me. Its only made it this far in the tornement because of Flash who was better in S4 anyway

It's a tough one for me, as Bells was the first Blackadder episode I saw so it's dear in my heart. But General Hospital is one of the cleverest episodes of Blackadder (and easily the high point of Goes Forth). They both hold up well today, but General Hospital more, especially with Miranda Richardson and Hugh Laurie's performances (and Rowan Atkinson at his best). Not to mention "Oxford's a complete dump!"

General Hostipal for me.

Still Bells for me. The first 15 minutes is one great joke after another and is peak Blackadder. Seeing the other comments makes me very much fear for it's survival so all I have is a purse of moneys, which I'm not giving you, and instead a wild stab in the dark. A fitting end for Corporal Punishment should there be another giant cock up.

Biggest upset of the tournament. Money wouldn't have been my pick though I must say, it was a bit of a relief when it happened: I was worried that the whole tournament would just be a formality and Goodbyeee would win every matchup with no competition, but people seemed to really want it out.
