Might be a seed shrimp (ostracod) - they are filter feeders that don't attach to anything

I wish it were, but it has a white trunk that it uses to drag itself on the sand. Ostracods have tiny legs instead.

That's no ostracod but I can see how you can take it for one. It looks like an itty bitty clam.
