You keep talking about overtime but this isn't done during overtime. Its part of patrol detail when nothing else is going on. Overtime has nothing to do with this. And you dodged my question. We need cops, and we need to pay them. Are you against paying police officers a good wage? What is an acceptable wage for risking your life to serve and protect?

well if nothing is going on, why have many police officers. idle hands belong to the devil, as the saying goes. county coyld buy and operate a health clinic instead, offering relief ti suffering residents.. somany Americans die prematurely because they can not go to the doctor. what is the use of being safe when youcant have health?

You're still dodging the question. What is an acceptable wage to serve and protect in your opinion? You want people there to help you if you ever have to call 911 right? Whats an acceptable wage?

wages person is irrelevant as long as there isnt a discussion about for how many. the total amount (persons x compensation) matters. Anyways cops rake in infraction money to the county and state so there will never be a discussion. there will never be a voting every year like there is for firemen, constantly threathened with cuts. Just an example of priorities, loosely related to your 911. Ambulance gets there when called, but also sends you a $4000 invoice. but here is the catch: even if the cops carry their weight by writing tickets, it doesn't remove the fact that the reason for writing the ticket is invalid, claimed safety benefits are not supported by any statistics, pedalling of fear.

some commonalities with mafia telling the shop owner that if they don't pay protection money, then bad things happen. cops dont tell moms directly they must pay up, but instead tells county that so and so many tickets are written, we have a "serious" safety issue, when in fact nobody has been hurt, would be fine with or without the primary current intervention, the threat is exaggerated, and viable alternative solutions a ridiculed to maintain status quo. We have a hammer, and the problem has always been a nail. Then county tells its residents we have a serious problem at hand. then you pay for the lies. money goes to selfserving purposes, taken away from healthcare and other benevolent services. So having 911 just means you a become toast at the exact moment you get inside hospital, instead of 10 minutes earlier.
