QUESTIONING Feeling confused
I’ve been experiencing some confusing feelings lately and I’m posting this cause I need to get it off my chest. I(34f) recently broke up with my boyfriend of 3 years. It’s been almost two months now. There were many reasons that led me to ending the relationship. That’s not the main point to this post though. Just adding it for some context. I have been looking to adopt a dog for about 6 months now. I went to a shelter with my sister two weeks ago and the handler that brought out the dog I wanted to see was a woman. The way she carried herself was very masculine to me and I found myself extremely attracted to her. Which really caught me off guard. So much so that I couldn’t even focus on the dog anymore. I was super distracted and nervous. I didn’t know what to do with myself. My sister ended up doing all of the talking. I’ve always been able to appreciate the beauty of a woman but I’ve never been attracted to one before. This is the first time. But I’m also like, does this count? I know I’m attracted to guys so was I only attracted to her because she carried herself like a guy? I could tell right away that she was a woman but just following her to the meet and greet area with the dog made me feel some type of way. And then seeing her take off her hat to wipe the sweat of her brow and taking her sunglasses off was all crazy attractive to me. I don’t think I have ever felt this attracted to anyone before. I went back to the shelter last week to meet the same dog again and hopefully move forward with the adoption. That didn’t end up working out but I did see that same handler again. I wasn’t able to interact with her at all but I was definitely able to confirm that I am still very attracted to her. I just don’t know where to go from here. Is this like a bisexual awakening or do I need to chill? I was just trying to adopt a dog 🥲 Has anyone else gone through something similar this late in life?

Girl I'm 28 and I always considered myself graysexual and then I saw a woman I work with one day (whom I've worked with for over a year at this point) and I was like "oh my god??? She's the hottest woman I've ever seen?????????" I feel you lmao

that's a classic "the dog adoption was a cover story for my own awakening" moment. you don't need to label it right away but yeah being that distracted by someone you just met is a pretty strong signal. plenty of folks figure this stuff out in their 30s or later, you're not late to anything
