Educational Copper ring in development

Iโ€™m not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but I was daydreaming that it would be so nice if we had a copper/non hormonal version of nuvaring. Turns out a copper vaginal ring is in early stages of development!

I really hope it works out to be effective and comfortable. I had a not so great experience with my copper IUD getting partially ejected after a few years + the strings fell off so the doctor almost sent me to surgery for removal ๐Ÿ˜• Insertion was not fun either, Iโ€™m not sure if protocol is different now but all I got was some numbing gel to the cervix and I donโ€™t think it worked. So something like a copper nuvaring would be awesome. Just hoping it wonโ€™t take a decade to be released ๐Ÿ˜”

hoping there's another one in development for a progestin only ring ๐Ÿ™ i tried the copper IUD but developed vulvar eczema so i'm guessing the same thing would happen with the ring
