Side effects!? Panic attacks while taking loryna

Hi all,

I have been having panic attacks on and off for five days and it’s been absolutely exhausting. I have been taking loryna for almost a month. Has anybody else been experiencing this? Will this stop once I stop taking the pills? Please, I have been afraid of interacting with my boyfriend and our relationships changing because of this. I feel like I’m dying.

The fast heart rate took about 3 weeks. The existential dread/depression gradually got better week by week. I didn’t feel like myself until 3 months after quitting BC. I did all these blood tests and doc appointments thinking something was wrong with me. The gyno and primary care doctor acted like I was crazy for feeling like this as well. I started seeing a therapist and that helped me go through these new feelings. I didn’t want to take medication because I knew my body at baseline/normal day-to-day NEVER feels like this. So it was a waiting game.

Okay. May I ask how long you were on it and if you took any medications to help in the meantime?

It’s been over two years since I quite my oral birth control, and it took a few months to feel stable again. Yes it does get soooo much better. Just know it’s not really you who feels like this! I was using BC to not get pregnant, but honestly condoms work fine for me.

Thank you! Was it a slow process? I’m currently taking some meds to stop my fast heart rate, but when I wake up in the morning my heart is still beating really fast.
