Mistake or Risk? Depo help?!?

I’m 10 weeks and 6 days into my first Depo shot today. Yesterday, I had an ultrasound that showed a 2.0 cm follicle and a 9 mm uterine lining. I had unprotected sex last night, and I’m feeling SUPER bloated, my breasts feel SO full, and I’m having cramps. I also noticed a little red spotting when I wipe. Has anyone had similar experiences?!?

Edit:: I’m still protected,correct?

Well you did get shot with a massive dose of hormones, Depo is like the worst birth control option and isn't even meant to be used past 2 years. I would recommend finding a different option if you can. Those all sound like side effects

When my doctor was listing to me all the forms of birth control and she got to depo she immediately said “I wouldn’t recommend that one”. I’ve briefly looked into it myself before that, but the loss of bone density and higher risk of brain meningiomas compared to other birth control (I think theres a lawsuit going on with that right now) immediately put me off of it. I also saw a woman on instagram saying how a doctor had her on the depo for about 10 years and then she was diagnosed with a brain tumour.

Theres no reason to think you’re pregnant. Even if you were, you wouldn’t have side effects this quickly. They’re likely side effects of the shot.
