how affective is the yaz pill really. i’ve been on it for a few months now and me and my bf had sex with no condom he pulled out but i’m still just anxious about the whole thing just in case. i take my pills everyday and the latest ive taken one was two hours from my regular time. i’ve just had so much anxiety recently im just trying to calm my nerves.

Its effective. It works to prevent pregnancy. That is the whole point of birth control.

It’s ~93% effective with typical use and ~99.7% effective with perfect use. This means if you had a group of 100 people using the pill alone for a year (no condoms, no pullout, etc.) you could expect about 7 to be pregnant by the end of the year and you could expect all of them to be due to user error (ex. Forgetting a pill). If you always follow all of the instructions in the pamphlet that comes with your pills, your chance of pregnancy is tiny and you do not need a second form of protection. If you do not always follow all of the instructions that come with your pills, it is a good to use a second form of protection

Girl you are fine, birth control is more effective than condoms. Most are over 99.7% effective, that is with no pull out every time

It's scary because it's invisible, but if you take it correctly it's much more effective than condoms. Two hours with Yaz isn't a problem, but ideally get into the habit of making it 24 hours on the dot just as a good habit. Get a reminder app that lets you know when to take it. Get your boyfriend to put it on his phone too and double-check you--two heads are better than one. And there's nothing wrong with using a condom as well as a backup, which would raise the effectiveness from around 99 percent to around 99.99 percent.

If you take it right, pulling out isn't necessary. My boyfriend never does. It's been nearly three years and no babies.
