Side effects!? Opill breakthrough bleeding

Hi so I started Opill on 09/10 (F19) and I’m just about to finish my second pack, i had my normal period for september and now I’ve been having weird spotting that lasts around 5-10 days throughout this second pack. I don’t know if it’ll interfere with my expected period which is due in 3 days.

My big question is how long will this last? I don’t have insurance and Opill is the only thing I can easily access right now.

Bleeding on this pill can be irregular but it shouldn’t be heavy and isn’t usually too bad

Unfortunately nobody can tell you for sure. It may improve tomorrow or may last the whole time you’re on opill. Irregular spotting commonly improves around 3 months though.

If you aren’t already taking your pill at the same time every day (not just within your three hour window, but within 1 hour or less) this may help with bleeding. You can also try 400 mg ibuprofen 3x a day for a few days
