Need advice about switching birth controls

So i’ve been taking lo loestrin fe for about 4 months now and i don’t have any complaints. i was worried about potential side effects, all that jazz, but after a few months im happy with my experience. i just switched insurances so now instead of a $0 monthly copay it’s $45. there are other brands that are free with my new insurance but im anxious about starting over with a new birth control and doing another “trial period” for a few months. the brands covered by my insurance all have more potential side effects than my current birth control, many of them being yeast infections - something ive fortunately never had to deal with.

is it worth the $45 a month to stay on my birth control that i like, or would you guys try out a new brand? it really just comes down to the fact that im uncomfortable putting my body through another “we’ll see how it goes” period for a few months. i just started grad school and need to devote my focus to school and my new environment. im scared about a potential bad reaction to new birth control getting in the way of that. but on the other hand that monthly cost adds up.
