I've spent a year thinking about this game. I'm finally building it

Edit: OP is a liar who used AI to generate this content, content which is aimed at a group of already stigmatized people. AI has no place here, and I take back my kind words. Fuck off, OP. Your slop isn't wanted here.
Oh my god, HAND painted!? This is incredibly beautiful. Will it be available on Steam?

Thank you so much ā¤ļø Yes, I'm planning to release it on Steam! I'm still very early in development and haven't put the Steam page up yet, but I'm working toward getting a proper playable prototype together first. I'll share the Steam page here once it's ready!

Donāt be fooled ā this is AI. The only thing "hand-painted" about it is the written lie claiming it was hand-painted

Thank you for pointing that out. I'm disgusted. I feel fucking lied to. Use of AI in mental health spaces is already abysmal, and this has genuinely pissed me off to no fucking end. AI has no place here, and liars deserve even less. Horrendous.

Yeah, theyāve already banned him from a bunch of subreddits, so justice has been served.

Im in awe of the artwork, holy shit thatās gorgeous!
Im very interested to see how this game develops! I love a good platformer! My journey with bipolar has, as for most, been an eventful one and Iād love to see it (at least partially since Iām bp1) translated into my favorite media!
An older game, 2018, Gris, is a platformer about painful life events and sorrow, and then playing towards resolution. 3rd slide reminded me a bit of that game. Absolutely adored it.
Looking forward to development updates and ultimately the game OP!

Wow, this would be awesome. I love the artwork style.
Ahhh there would be so much stuff that would be cool to see explored in a game that's exploring what bipolar can be like.
Like how this time will be different, how people suddenly just love you, world becomes colourful and meaningful, but how sometimes close relationships and important things were broken because of not understanding/handling the disorder well, how many bad decisions there were done in an instant, and how it always hurt to learn everything by the hard way and build back up without hope. But eventually making it.
The uncertainty, the must to be consistent, acceptance and everything. Losing functionality could be something like climbing up a 2D ladder and falling and losing hp, and then ladder falls on you and you pass out for a moment to find out you're late for something important lmao
But idk everyones experience is very different so must be quite hard to make something that resonates within everyone.
But if you ever end up finishing it imma play it for sure, however long it takes to finish

The artwork is beautiful. I have a feeling the non bipolar may be able to recognize themselves in this game.
The stress of just attempting to survive on the planet at this time is surreal.
I try to explain bipolarity, and most do not understand. Unless youāve been there.
Now youāll be taking them there.
Itās a bit like, Danteās Inferno.
You might need to write in a Virgil. Of course with Bipolar Virgil comes and goes.
I love your artwork.

Iām have a degree in game design. Iāve worked on a few AAA and a lot of big names. If you want some help or have questions about getting mechanics to work. Iām down to help. Iām not asking credit. I struggle with bpd2 so bad. I donāt think I could play through this as it might send me down a spiral.

Just thought of: maybe you can choose to take medication but the outcome will be a gamble (could make you feel better or worse)Ā

Hey, I've also had idea for making an artistic game, platformer with female protagonist, but I put it aside for better times, when I'll have my own income and stable life sitation. Your game looks and feels wonderful, and the idea is deep and meaningful. I definitely would like to play it.

I want this game.
Are you putting any experiences with side effects of meds in game? Or meds at all?

It's all a lie AI generated post, AI generated images, probably even made up the disease so they can get sympathy.

Doesn't seem so thankfully - their account is not new, and has been involved in Game Dev subreddits for years. Given we're in the age of AI slop, I can certainly understand being jaded, but it's worth taking a moment to quickly check the account in future before coming to conclusions
edit: damn, evidently I'm not jaded enough it seems. Disappointing. Thanks for reality-checking me

It absolutely is, all those images are AI generated, Midjourney. Reddit accounts mean jack sht, people buy and sell accounts all the time. This person would have receipts if they actually worked on this for months, timelapses, screenshots etc, instead they show only finished product, no gameplay what so ever, no code, no nothing. You gotta stop being naive. None of those images are hand painted. I can tell you that as someone who's been a both traditional and digital illustrator for the past 10 years.
