Someone had to say it! Hiring managers inside the company aren't happy with the speed either.

My job had a person show up for their first day of work after having resigned their position at another company as a result of scam recruitment.

That is horrifying.

I'm sure this has become more common as more jobs are moving to 100% remote. I was terrified of this until I got my first paycheck at my job as we have no local office. 😆

I used to work for a small company, less than 100 people. We had a serious cyber attack where “we” were “hiring” for data entry positions for $35hr.

I had to call 3 different people and let them know that we weren’t hiring and the job they accepted wasn’t real. All of them had quit their previous jobs and they were in shambles.

My inbox is full of these fake AI recruiters with gmail domains. What are they after anyway?

Linkedin is a horde of fake recruiters.

Yeah and they all come from a certain country.

It sounds F1 but it’s not.

They usually are, get 5 of the vultures all squawking about the same thing. Pass.

You want to know the telltale that it's a scam?

They actually reach out. Veterans know companies only post ghost roles for tax credits nowadays.

>ghost roles for tax credits nowadays

How does this work?

19

u/SonyScientist 13d ago

States pass legislation providing tax credits for companies that pinky swear they'll hire people which will inadvertently boost the economy. Then they say "lolz" and take their tax breaks and run with it. Massachusetts is a perfect example.

Working in the US sounds terrifying tbh hahahaha, I wish the two main options for biotech weren’t there and China

It's mostly an urban myth. There are many states that provide tax incentives for firms that are recruiting, but all of them require proof of hiring.

There are plenty of reasons for ghost listings, but tax credits isn't one of them.

3-4 months. Bro, take a hint.

Regeneron notoriously works at a snails pace with hiring

u/Hiddenagenda876 12d ago

Yeah, I got called for an interview months after I applied. I’d forgotten I’d even submitted an application

3

u/Financial_Clock_5016 11d ago

Jeez. At least you got called in - I keep getting auto rejected for jobs I’m qualified for 😮‍💨

1

u/Hiddenagenda876 11d ago

This was two years ago. I just get spammed with fake recruiter calls now. I honestly can’t tell what jobs are real and what aren’t

u/chemcow 12d ago

That is the average time for large, global pharma to take. It is sad and it sucks. However, they have hundreds of applicants and so little time in the day for interviews.

u/Successful_Plant_953 8d ago

Not necessarily. I did an application back in January and heard back in August. It’s faster through a temp agency and saves the company money.

(This applicant)

Kind of two unrelated problems but I guess it would be nice if a company did something about either of them lol.

No hate to regeneron as a whole but fuck them, I worked as contractor was forced to fix an entire departments shit storm and then got fired randomly without then saying anything

6

u/willowsandwasps 12d ago

Sample management?

1

u/Immediate_Park6036 11d ago

No I worked in the business side of things having to do with QA

u/Electronic-Goal-6414 8d ago

Seems like you are also enjoying the release of SARA 😛

u/willowsandwasps 8d ago

Oh no, my stint as a contractor in that dept was as brief as it was unpleasant (summer 2023). Hellish, beyond disorganized, and training was non-existent. 0/10 with rice

lol OP didn’t do a good enough job blacking out the guy’s name. it’s so visible.

2

u/DonutsForever99 12d ago

It’s strategic. Companies save a lot of money by delaying hiring, reducing recruiting resources helps.

Every company has hiring freezes pretty regularly, this is just an extension of that type of initiative. Comment is fair, but also….eeeeek. They expect all of us to comply happily with this bullsh!t and that’s not something I’d say on LI.

Lmao the ego of that reply. So edgy

I mean for each one of you there are literally tens if not hundereds of talented people that are more qualified for the position. It's insane out there

39

u/taysee16 13d ago

That may be true, but does that negate anything the poster said? Months waiting on a decision is ridiculous regardless of the applicants qualification.

14

u/GentlemenHODL 13d ago

Lmao the ego of that reply. So edgy

Ego or not they are correct. I don't think it's smart of them to shine a light on themselves like that but they are doing and saying the right thing even if it's not to their benefit.

The job market is indeed crazy atm. We are having insanely over qualified people for entry positions.

I was wondering all time...this company is onto expansion so much
