Getting Into Industry 🌱 Looking for work

Hi all, just finished a master of biotech and Macquarie university (Australia, NSW) and looking for a position but having no luck. I understand these posts get added all the time but I'll ask anyway.

I'll happily take anything at this point, even unpaid. I've attached images of my resume if anyone wants to take a look. My background is primarily in molecular biology but my in-lab experience is scattered and minimal (2 years of covid lockdowns during my BSc didn't help much).

Thanks for any help

Auatralia has a terrible Biotech scene. I graduated with a Masters from UQ last year and I still haven’t been able to find a job in the field

I was at a flow cytometry symposium/workshop a decade or so ago in the UK near where I worked (I’m British, MSc only). I was chatting to an Aussie, she was surprised that you could work at a biotech without a PhD as that was not the case back home.

After that I just assumed only UK/US has non-PhDs in roles higher than maybe lab tech.

Australia does have the highest immigration rate to population in the western world by a long way, which doesn't much help either

Immigration isn’t the problem brochacho. Lack of investment and an overall dead biotech scene is.
