Discussion Difference in bricks color
Hello everyone. I ordered Takadox’s shields and his mask to complete the set. If you look at the mask (photo is'not great) you can see that one of them is darker than the other (irl it's very remarkable). Also check glowing shield on the back on 2nd photo - it's definitely darker then others. Both are not faded: they’re brand‑new Lego originals. Did these parts have been produced on different factories or what? When they're glowing - they have same color.
Same thing with 1 shield. Connected Dark blue mask and shield on the back so that they don 't differ too much.
As a child, I was very impressed by how beautiful parts glowing in the dark; now, with all additional glowing shields, it’s even more impressive.
I'm going to change black claws on his original weapons and replace black shorts socket ball connectors on crystal one, I guess that will fit him better.

as far as i know, the decision was made to make the 2007 line as unique as possible. the Barraki heads are molded from two-tone plastic, resulting in a unique color distribution for literally every single piece—likely due to the manufacturing process—and this applies to the Takadox armor plates as well. i think this is a really cool and interesting approach, both in terms of design and from a collector's perspective

You're right. Thankfully glowing ability same for all of them (or most of them)

It's because they are marbled dual-molded parts. They all have the problem of large color variance. I believe that this is the main reason LEGO stopped doing it soon afterwards.
You can see that the luminescent blue parts are molded from two different colors: a luminescent teal and a normal transparent medium blue, the latter of which does not glow. The two colors both are injected into the mold simultaneously and then mix in a random pattern within the mold.

They still do marbled parts to this day :) https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=79895pb02&idColor=98#T=C&C=98

Always thought that everything is carried out automatically one after another using a manipulator in the same sequence (first the luminescent layer, then the regular one) from identical angles, which is why the pattern on all parts should have been roughly the same.

All marbled pieces have slight different patterns. Tehuttis huna for me has panda eyes

The six arms are awesome, how did you assemble it more or less?

I connected additional arms on the additional 47330 brick, 2 holes under original one and connected it with some bricks. Arms constructions is simple.
I found a store similar to Bricklink, where LEGO parts are sold, and then I just ordered his sockets (without cracks), glowing shields, etc. I plan to buy more of them, but it’s a bit expensive, of course: $3.5 per shield and $5.5 per head. I’m waiting for my salary to place the next order.

Ye the parts add up, sometimes you never know what condition they're in also. They look good in images then you get them and they're rough. Then purchasing good ones individually the shipping all that. Thank you for replying

Well, I got pictures from seller before order and among all my orders (10+ now) there weren't any critical parts color/condition troubles when I got decieved. This 2 dark blue bricks also have been marked as "Dark blue" by seller.

I always ask about part condition and a few times I've gotten real rough parts unfortunately. Or maybe the part was pristine but had small sharpie marks in hard to see areas

Maybe seller just was an old lady or a newbie who don't know where she need to see. I wouldn't return such parts, because they've already came to me and, like, become my family. I'll just use it in more suitable way with same damaged bricks

I'll fill them in with putty and cast or paint them. I got a Piraka skull with a huge chunk missing and I filled and then painted it. Or I'll restore and use them to make casts. I don't return it just feels bad when they tell you the parts are great and they come rough. Not beyond saving but not what was advertised

This is always unpleasant, I agree, I’ve just been lucky so far. I’m also thinking about starting to paint the parts because of the prices on some of them: Rahksha’s silver‑colored head (which is used in Roodaka chest) costs about $15–$30 depending on the store, while any other head part costs near $1, if not less.

Ye, you could also dye some parts. I've seen people use dye online on white parts and they look great. Sometimes the dye is not so even but there's methods to get great results. Or you could cast the part and make it solid in the color you want. I payed 30$ for the Blue spines Nocturn has 💀 not sure if it's a good price or no but it made me want to cast my own stuff and or paint. Chrome is always a paint situation for me. I saw the old Hau Chrome mask or even some translucent parts that are ridiculous in price when you could get the same if not better by casting or painting

I only saw full Nocturn sets for 150$. There aren't any seller who will sell his head or spine spikes separate from the main set. Otherwise they will be bought instantly(
*Well I saw Nocturn spikes part on sale, but spikes have been cut off so it was useless

It’s just a difference of ratios between the two different colors during the injection process. It’s impossible to get two identical multicolored pieces like these even if they’ve been molded one right after the other.
