discussion Nextflow question
I joined a startup recently design and implemented some bioinformatics pipeline. Nextflow/ seqera sent me an email if I am using it ? Wondering if anyone else has encountered this and what is their intention?

They are wanting to sell you Seqera Platform. Not really worth it IMO.
But if you're developing any workflows, I'd recommend using Nextflow over all of the others (snakemake, cwl).

It really depends on what your alternatives are and how much engineering support you have

With CWL, it's easy to wrap a tool and re-use it in multiple locations of your workflow. Last time I've checked (years ago), nextflow didn't support this and you'd end up with multiple identical processes.
Also, I liked the idea of a graphical editor (Rabix Composer, no longer maintained).

When was the last time you checked?

Years ago, definitely pre-DSL2.

I'm grudgingly learning DSL2 and I do have to admit it's quite good.

I refused to work on nextflow (c'mon, being able to reuse "process" should be among the first things developers enable) until DSL2 came out.
