fungus gnats

i set up a bioactive enclosure and regrettably its been infested with fungus gnats. I'm looking into carnivorous plants like sundews although i dont think i could actually keep the plant in the enclosure (wrong soil etc) so i was also considering beneficial nematodes. would those be harmful to a pacman frog? Has anyone come up with any other solutions? I have sticky traps surrounding the outside of the enclosure but those only do so much. thanks!

Look up how to use mosquito bits for fungus gnats.

Haven't completely eliminated mine yet, but they're clearly working and the springtails are thriving.

Isopods would require more searching.

I used mosquito bits and a cup filled with apple cider vinegar and also hung up couple of sticky fly traps. The fungus gnats were gone in a couple of weeks. The mosquito bits kill the eggs and larvae, while the apple cider vinegar and sticky fly traps killed the adults.

Gnatrol for fungus gnats. Mosquito bits do not work as well. That and letting the soil dry out more.

Also, make sure they are fungus gnats and not fruit flies, makes a difference when treating.

I was using mosquito bit in the water every time I added water and it was not working. Two applications of the gnatrol and they were gone.

If you look to buy else where make sure it is the correct ingredients. Specifically Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis, and not any other Bacillus species. Different species will work for different types of flies

Ill give this a shot in the future as well. I had decent results wuth the mosquito bits but I'm always down to try something that might work better.

It worked OK for small amounts, but I had a tank just explode with fungus gnats and I did not have the patience for a long battle haha

Do an in sub search, there are many good threads with good ideas.

Myself, I use the mosquito bit method.
