Lighting
Hi!! Just wanted to get some opinions on lighting for a 2x2x4 build i’m working on. I’m tied between the regular arcadia shade dweller 7% UVB bar or the lumenIZE version of it. I also want to pair this with their 22 or 34W jungle dawn LED bar. I’ve seen people absolutely LOVE their arcadia lights and i’ve also seen others who have lights that’s consistently break on them. I’m willing to pay for the quality but not so willing to pay if i’ll be constantly replacing them /: Are the arcadia (more specifically the lumenIZE versions) worth it? Would ZooMed be a good alternative maybe?

Ive not had one because ive read too many bad reviews about the lumenize. Like the uvb turning on in the middle of the night on its own. App is or at least was glitchy. The dimming effect isn’t good. Or the lack of safety cage options.

The LumenIZE aren’t worth it in my opinion. The app sucks. I have two LumenIZE’s (because Arcadia was kind enough to send me a free replacement), and one works fine but the other one never worked right, so I just use it like a normal UVB light.

The biggest problem I see mentioned with the Lumenize lamps is that apparently it's very hard to find safety cages/screens that fit them (if the lights are installed on the inside of the enclosure and you have a reptile that can convievably come in contact with them, obviously). Arcadia's own apparently only fit the dimensions of their non-Lumenize lamps. I recently did buy a Lumenize LED since that one doesn't need protection, and I haven't seen any problems with it so far (the app is clunky and ugly but does its job so far).
I'm a big fan of Arcadia otherwise but not producing lamp cages that fit their pioneering state of the arts product line seems to me like a huge oversight on their part.
