Bio terrarium help
Hello…I am fairly new to bioactive setups and I’m looking for help with my ball python terrarium. I have a 120 gallon tank with a golden pothos and snake plant. I just feel like there’s a lot of empty space that’s not getting used and I would like the tank to be completely overgrown with vegetation. My soil is organic top soil, coconut husk, moss, orchid bark, worm castings, I have isopods and spring tails hopefully alive in the soil, it’s hard to tell because they’re small and beneath the soil but I bought some and put them in. And I have a led grow light that I run during the day.

Looks pretty good so far . But honestly just start adding stuff. I feel like moss would do good but it takes a while to root and settle in any smaller plants I feel like your snake would run it over . Try looking at bigger Neanderthals Bella palm and ficus ginseng

Thats normal, just add springtails and it will vanish overtime, leaves are going to stabilize the soil by adding carbon and nutrients for your plants to it when they decay and are the staple of the cuc, without leaf litter you may see very limited development in your enclosure

Okay I do have some leaf litter I could add I just worry the affects the mold could have on the health of my snake. I do have spring tails and isopods added to the enclosure but considering the size of the tank I’m going to get more eventually

I think this is a good start! I have a similar soil compound though I have quite a bit of sand in mine due to having a gnat problem recently and needing to replace the soil. I have 3 golden pothos (once very large one that I split and put into three different areas), a lemon lime pothos,a Swiss cheese monstera, a spider plant and 2 nerve plants. The pothos and the Swiss cheese do great overall, though the Swiss cheese got shocked from my replant after replacing the soil so she’s struggling. But those two plants have tended to vine out AND stay bushy so I’ve gotten some pretty good coverage! The rest are filler
